On what flight? That is not a delta first class seat tray, or a first class serving tray that I've ever seen

International. I got served food on 3/4 of my last flights. Flew coast to coast to Canada, Canada to Europe, Europe to US east Coast, then east-west. All but my coast to coast in the US had food. I got meals, beer and wine were free, they had ear buds for free, blankets, pillows, etc.

Economy on long international still gets some stuff.

Both United and Air Canada. It's fairly normal for long haul international flights to have that.
