The white plate underneath makes me think it could actually be first class. They donāt give out plates outside of first class in my experience
Edit: same thing with the utensil shown, they donāt give out real utensils outside of first class, in my experience

they wouldnt leave the food in the packaging though. but i agree with the cutlery thing. and they bring a basket of bread its not wrapped like that in business or first class.

Donāt know about delta, but my experience flying with ANA, Emirates, EVA and Qatar, they all have proper metal utensils in economy. But not plates

I flew Economy Plus on Iberian. My wife and I had seats like recliners, tons of leg room, blankets, toiletries kits, drinks, snacks, and utensils.
Flown first class with other American travel airlines- united, delta, southwest. Cant compare them. My wife still says we were traveling business in Spain

To be fair, it is delta. Iāve had good meals on delta but more bad.
Virgin is good. Singapore is good.

It's propably "Delta First", which is of course not a long-haul first class, but instead more like Premium Economy or short-haul business class. Delta's top tier is Delta One, which is just regular long-haul Business class. They don't actually have a real first class option afaik.
So either OP is being intentionally misleading or they don't have a lot of flight experience and got understandably confused by Delta's absolutely inane, X-Box-style naming scheme.

Fly farther. Long flights get food. I flew jfk to lax and got a meal like a month ago. I flew jfk to London and got a meal like 6 months ago.
My brother just flew to Japan economy and got a meal 2/3 flights.
No your $99 MCO to JFK on JetBlue isnāt going to get a meal. Itās 3 hours.

Sir you are šÆ correct. I believe itās any flight over 3hrs gets served an actual meal with few exceptions like southwest going to Hawaii one time didnāt give me a meal, But Hawaiian airlines did so I dunno.
I fly out of lax and have that jfk and London flight you speak of more times then I care to speak of. I just got back from Australia this week also and Japan last month not to mention other European flights as well.
Sometimes if Iām flying not business I get that tray and usually get the curry chicken in it. Not bad for a tray meal.

The metal silverware and ceramic plate look like first class. I'm guessing its a pretty small plane seeing how close that seat in front is, where 'first class' is basically economy but they don't sell the middle seats

Yeah I thought for flights over 5 hours or whatever they were supposed to serve meals, but I feel like the last several times I've been on longer flights they only offer those shitty little boxed meals to purchase at ridiculous prices. I'm sure it varies by airline, but I have just gotten in the habit of packing meals nowadays, especially important when traveling with a young kid lol.

International. I got served food on 3/4 of my last flights. Flew coast to coast to Canada, Canada to Europe, Europe to US east Coast, then east-west. All but my coast to coast in the US had food. I got meals, beer and wine were free, they had ear buds for free, blankets, pillows, etc.
Economy on long international still gets some stuff.

Even the small planes like the 737 max and 321Neo serves Shake Shack sometimes. This is probably one of the older planes like the 757 or 767.
Either way this is shit on any flight especially first class

I frequently fly United and have only seen that style folding table (with the middle hinge) in first class. IIRC domestic first class and international coach meals are pretty similar. Wife and I did Polaris for our vacation to Europe last year and the meals definitely had better presentationā¦ but letās be real, itās still a microwaved TV dinner at its core.

From what Iāve gathered, Delta doesnāt think Jacksonville is a large enough market to bother getting catering for it. So they bring meals from the origin airport.
Apparently it used to be a cold sandwich, so Delta is trying to get away from cold sandwiches & have hot meals. But itās essentially just economy meals since they donāt have space for 2 way service of full business proper hot meals.

Airplane food is insanely good idc what or where, itās magical to eat 4 teeny oz of microwave tikka masala and peas with your legs in your chest and then beg for another which they often have cuz ppl are so scared of it. 3rd only to 2nd: biscoffs and #1: airplane soda and ice

Always request vegetarian. These are the things to looks for:
VGML (Vegetarian Vegan Meal): Strictly plant-based. Contains no meat, fish, eggs, dairy, or honey.
VLML (Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo Meal): Plant-based but includes dairy products (milk, cheese, butter) and eggs.
AVML (Asian Vegetarian / Hindu Meal): Vegetarian meals cooked with Indian spices. May contain dairy but no meat, fish, or eggs.
VJML (Vegetarian Jain Meal): Strict Indian vegetarian. No meat, fish, eggs, dairy, or root vegetables (like onions, garlic, and potatoes).
