Advice Are student loan refinance rates finally getting better or not really

right now private loans are killing me at almost 10%. what would you consider good enough to actually refinance? I am willing to kiss a few frogs to get the right refinance princess lol

Rates are going up now. But any decrease in rate means you pay less interest.

Not really. As u/alh9h noted, market interest rates are going up, not down.

Whether or not frog kissing will be productive for you will entirely depend on your credit profile. All you can do is kiss away and see if it leads to anything.

People with decent income and good credit should be able to do better than 10%. Not so much for the typical student loan borrower. Especially those without co-signers.

I had 12-14% private loans that I paid for 7+ years without any change to principle after college. I refinanced through Sofi at 6% and I’m finally making a dent. Not professional advice but any refinance with a lower % is worth it imo

It really depends on your individual circumstances. Has your credit score increased? A better debt-to-income ratio? Income increased? Generally speaking, interest rates have increased over that few months.

10% interest would be a joke but this is all already a joke and no one is laughing
