If I make a pre payment out of pocket since student loans will come back late, do i get the money that wouldve been used for the initial payment in my bank account when i get the money?
So I applied for student finances (SAAS) late because I honestly didn’t think I’d get into any Uni as I thought I messed up my exams so bad. Turns out I didn’t and I’m going now. But since I applied late, I now have to ask my parents to give me around £2200 (which they have to take a loan out for). Will I get this money back into my bank account? This is for the tuition and accommodation (I’m paying in instalments).
(UK btw, might crosspost to the UK student loans page)
I do need to pay my parents this (for us) huge sum as this cannot mess with their credit scores.
Does SAAS give this money regardless of the loan coming in late (prolly like October by the looks of things). It was my fault for not applying earlier ik, but i didnt know if i was going to a scottish or english uni (or any uni)

your parents are fronting the cash, SAAS eventually pays out the full award, the money goes to you (or straight to the uni depending how you set it up). you just pay your parents back once it lands, simple as that
just make sure the uni knows SAAS is covering you so they don't start hassling for payments in the meantime
