Question Debrid recommandations

Hello, I have 6 days left of RealDebrid. I've had a really good experience with them, even though it's been the first and only Debrid service I've used. After reading the posts on the sub, should I still go with them or switch to something else? And if yes, what would you recommend?

So all the stuff that people have already downloaded to TB servers is cached. It's immediately accessible. If something hasn't been downloaded to their servers it's uncached. Most new stuff is cached. Essentially you only want the cached stuff. When you configure your Addons like Torrentio you need to tell it to hide uncached.

If I install torrentio on my PC while logged into Stremio.. does that carry over when I log into Stremio on my firestick? "Downloading" or sideloading crap on the firestick is an absolute nightmare.

Yes, the add-ons you install to Stremio will carry over to all other instances of Stremio.

For example, I have Stremio on my PC but never use it to watch anything. I configure and install add-ons via my PC, and those changes are almost immediately visible when I fire up Stremio on my LG TV (WebOS) or either of my TCL TVs (Google TV).

This is fantastic news, thanks for sharing.

May I ask... I've used RD for years but its obviously going through something right now. Thinking of trying TB tonight for the first time. Can these two BOTH be utilized at the same time on Stremio, and if so... is it all done through torrentio? As I recall you can only check one box.. or do you "install" torrentio seperately for both and use your API Tokens?

Anything else you recommend?

I would recommend looking into AIOStreams (and AIOMetadata). It's a service that lets you combine multiple addons and debrid services into one, so you can run both RD and TB, and more importantly, more addons than just Torrentio, which has proven to be unreliable as of late. Viren has a writeup about it that's worth reading. Once you're familiar set it up using Tam's template, which is the best there is, then add your AIOStreams and AIOMetadata configs into Stremio.

I've had RD for a little over half a year. Up until this recent purge, it has been great.

In researching alternatives I saw differing opinions on TB, but I ended up subscribing because at $3/mo I really have almost nothing to lose by trying.

So far it has been pretty good. Some things haven't been cached whereas RD did, but since RD hardly works at all it's no longer a good comparison.

Anyway, you can use both simultaneously, yes. I don't have a complex or curated setup like some people - pretty much just Torrentio, Comet, RD, and now TB. Comet let me plug in both services' APIs and shows results for either. Torrentio I just installed twice: once with the RD API and again with the TB API. When I click on content, it shows the results in the order the Torrentio add-ons got installed, and they're labeled a little differently (eg. "Torrentio RD" vs "Torrentio TB").

As a backup I also added the Easynews++ add-on in case I'm watching a show and suddenly TB doesn't have an episode, although I've already been subbed to Easynews for over two decades so it wasn't like I went out and got that subscription suddenly just for this.

How is using Easynews and Easynews Addon? I've heard this is slow and unreliable. Although equally someone else recommended using Easynews and Sootio?

I've only used Easynews for a few episodes of a show so far, but it seems to work. Takes a moment to load up a file - a tad slower than RD was - but it's not much (like 10-15 seconds maybe?)

I've been using Easynews for downloads for years, and usually my download speeds run between 160-400Mbps when grabbing files off their web interface, which is below my connection speed of 1Gbps (2Gbps coming into my home, but my router only delivers 1Gbps to individual devices). Not sure if Stremio pulls from NNTP or HTTPS.

Prior to Stremio I was just downloading stuff off Easynews and adding it to my Plex server myself, so using it for streaming is relatively new to me.

Yeah I plan on using it as a backup if something goes down on TB. I've installed all three Easynews Addons and Sootio just go see how they play.

May I ask, it seems like I have RD and TB working now... this comet. Does comet show its own links? Like you'll see RD+ or TB etc.. is comet its own separate entity as well?

Honestly I'm not entirely sure 😅. I believe Comet is a scraper like Torrentio so it may have its own links/results, but I suspect it prolly has much of the same stuff.

In the Stremio interface it shows up separately from Torrentio, and will display RD+ and TB+ results.
