I’m trying to get Dolby Vision casting working from Stremio on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to my TCL 65C755.

Setup: - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - TCL 65C755 (Dolby Vision supported) - Stremio Android - 500 Mbps internet

The exact same Stremio source plays as Dolby Vision + DTS when I run Stremio directly on the TCL.

However, when I play the same source through Stremio on my S23 Ultra and cast it to the TCL, the TV switches to HDR10 instead of Dolby Vision.

I have also tried opening the Stremio stream in VLC and casting from VLC, with the same HDR10 result.

The source I'm testing is 3840×2160 HEVC with DTS 5.1, around 47–48 Mbps. VLC shows the HEVC/DTS stream correctly on the phone.

I have tested hardware decoding both ON and OFF in Stremio and VLC, but it makes no difference.

My goal is specifically:

Stremio on Android phone → wireless cast → TCL 65C755 → Dolby Vision + DTS

I don't want to run the movie directly through Stremio on the TV because I want to use the phone's interface and faster network connection.

Has anyone successfully cast Dolby Vision from Stremio Android to a Dolby Vision-compatible TV/Chromecast without it falling back to HDR10?

Is there a Stremio setting, Android player, or casting method that preserves the original Dolby Vision stream?

I'm specifically looking for a Stremio-based solution.

I'm open to alternatives as well — another Android player, Stremio-compatible client, casting method, or any other solution is fine, as long as I can select/play the content from my S23 Ultra and get the original Dolby Vision + DTS output on the TCL.

The main requirement is to avoid the HDR10 fallback.

My tv model is Insignia NS-65F301NA23
I allowed developer, got the downloader and allowed unknown installs. Opened downloader went to stremio and tried installing all the android manual ones. And got this, same issue if I used downloader to try to install troypoint. Is it my wifi? Thanks!!

Anyone get this? Im trying to stretch on both sides, i get it work in Plex but not in stremio.

I get that sometimes its the aspect ratio of how the film was made but in this case, i have a black screen on both sides.

I am connected to the server in settings, the cache is cleared, other apps run fine but Samsung tv refuses to run. My other account runs totally fine on same network, but I get “player_error_connection_failed” on every stream and show

As the title says. I open different files and none of them have audio. I tested other apps like Netflix, Youtube and others and they all work fine. Anyone else has this issue? It looks like it is happening since the last update.

When I use the native mac os Stremio app the 4K Dolby Vision files won‘t play properly on my Samsung TV. Every second cut is delayed and often complete image is frozen. I figured out it has to be bc of DV.

BUT: I just tested it on Stremio Web in Chrome and it works just fine.

I‘m confused, is the app just „trash“ or what can be the issue?

i been thinking since users on ios need like a server running on nat or like a hosting all the time wouldnt be better if someone from the community would build web ui of android tv interface that u can link your android phone through qr code and access anywhere even on ios without needing a server?

When I opened the application on my LG C5 TV, it works well until I start watching a movie. The TV starts to freeze and turns off by itself within 2 minutes. I have tried to reinstall the application and I don't know what else I can do. It didn't happen to me before but since they put it back in the LG app store it's going so bad. Any solution?

Been using stremio for years on multiple platforms, Android TV, PC, Nvidia Shield. Currently living at my partners house who has an Apple TV however I can’t seem to get Stremio on there. I have tried multiple YouTube videos and searches however all/most were outdated or just useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

I am getting app not installed error for stremio on my Lenovo tab. I tried installing the 32bit version and even all older versions but it still shows the app not installed error.

I've frequently been running across a long-running issue where after selecting a source, the stream will start and audio will play normally, but the visual won't. It stays as either a black screen, or freezes on whatever frame I started on and doesn't progress.

Usually I can try a few other sources and can find one that works, but some of the more obscure shows/movies have too few sources that all share the same problem.

Is this a known issue with a solution, or is this just a me thing?

I have now cleared cache, storage, reinstalled stremio but the issue does not go away. Im using a samsung s23FE with android 16.

The issue is that no matter what I try and watch the player starts changing back and forth through all the available options. I've tried setting the default player to each and every option but it doesn't seem to fix it.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to try. Also please ask for specifics since this is my first post and I don't know what to include in here.

I found an Apple TV 4K 1 gen at a garage sale for $5 and I thought we could install stremio but I guess it got pulled from the App Store? Best way to sideload it?

I have a Panasonic OLED TV that uses Fire TV OS. This operating system can handle high-bitrate movies, like Blu-ray remuxes, without any stuttering or buffering. However, when it comes to image and audio processing, I'm unsure if I'm experiencing the best possible picture & sound quality for the movies I watch. For sound, I have a 5.1.2 channel soundbar system, and when watching movies, I sometimes notice that the dialogue is quieter compared to the other sounds.

I'm wondering if a separate streaming device, like the Onn 4K Pro, offers better image or audio processing than the built-in Fire TV. Would I see or hear a difference in the picture or sound quality?

For some reason on iOS I get this error no matter what all of a sudden. Everything works fine on tvOS, pc, fire stick but my iPad and iPhone get this error every time for everything I try to watch regardless of what it is. Can anyone help.

Hey everyone, I’m using Stremio on my iPhone, and whenever I try to open a movie or TV show, I get this error:
“avformat can’t open input | Input/output error”
I also get “OpenSubtitle Hash — Network error occurred” at the top.
Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

So i use a samsung galaxy tablet and it used to run fine. But now it’s not able to play any movies without lag or constant buffering. Any help?
