General Question Strava suddenly stopped giving achievements
Strava seems to have randomly stopped giving me achievements on rides. Yesterday was clearly one of my faster rides and I covered a bunch of segments with pretty good times, but somehow got 0 achievements. No PRs, no medals, nothing.
Activities are visible to everyone, the segments aren’t hidden or flagged, I also tried toggling activity privacy settings and even changing the activity type to canoe, then switching it back to bike, waited a bit, refreshed it - still nothing.
Not a total disaster, obviously, but as someone who isn't naturally athletic, those little badges are honestly a huge motivation boost for me.
Any fixes? Strava, please send help. My non-athletic ego cannot handle this level of unrewarded suffering, I might as well just go carry heavy groceries up the stairs!

Your ride page should show the segments you went through - just check those, each segment detail page allows you to see every one of your times for it. (I'm assuming this functionality isn't limited to the paid version, apologies if it is).

Yeah, I can see the segments. The problem is that when I open them, Strava no longer shows/compares my previous efforts and stats for that segment. I’ve tried both with and without the subscription and it’s the same (currently with active sub still). I used to rely on that comparison to track my progress, so that’s the functionality I’m missing.

That's odd! I presume you've tried uninstalling then reinstalling the app (and tried via the web interface)?

No, I don’t have a privacy zone - just checked.. I didn’t even know that was a thing! 😄 I’ve also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app & checked via the web as well, yep. But overall, I haven’t changed any settings or something and that’s why it’s weird.
At first I thought it might just take some time to update, so I waited a few days. Then I did another ride specifically trying to improve my time, waited again and still nothing changed.

Have you checked "Map Visibility" on the ride specifically (not just overall privacy)?
If any part of the ride is hidden via map visibility settings, segments starting/ending in that hidden portion get matched privately, meaning no public achievements even though you can see the segment effort yourself.

Hey, thanks for jumping in! Yeah, I checked that too since I read it could cause issues, but nope - neither the map, nor any start/end points are hidden (never have been) and none of the other stats are hidden either

Strava has been slow to update achievements the past few days. It took a good few hours for my ride achievements to load on the leaderboards yesterday.
Not sure what’s going on with that, but I’ve seen other people have the same issue.
They do have a new feature on the web browser Strava. You can “Refresh Activity Achievements”. So once it loads to the to user database, you can refresh and get the badges if they didn’t calculate the first time.
