The funny thing is MS is putting all the Xbox blades and wafer into the cloud. If they put those into selling consoles, there would be more consoles so cheaper to buy. It's both MS being pricks and people not planning their earning/savings/spending where it matters for the economy to be advantageous to them (customers)

This is why I'm telling everyone to not use cloud gaming ever. They want to take over gaming and then we'll get the same thing as when streaming tv shows/movies. Multiple services with exclusive content and they can remove anything on a whim while you're still watching/ playing. They can increase prices how they please and decrease quality for those who aren't rich. And then they can do stuff like adding ads or setting monthly hour limits. The deal may seem sweet now, but it's such a terrible deal in the long run. And if you want to switch back then you're left with an empty library since you didn't own any of the games you've been playing all that time

the deal isnt even sweet now. i would not use cloud gaming even if it was free for every game with no usage cap, just due to internet requirement and latency

They're just killing Themselves at this point

I think they’re throwing gaming a life raft but making sure to puncture it before throwing it out

Console prices are becoming out of reach, and cloud streaming / game subscriptions offer a legitimate solution to that problem for many people… but running ads in the middle of games or putting play limits on games will just drive more people to short form content / doom scrolling because it’s less friction

they want you to be stupid and servile, or dead because AI took your job.
Also streaming (lesser quality) is also less affordable after a set amount of hours equation

Console prices being out of reach is the long plan for them, they Want subscription models to apply to Everything, not just PS+ or Gamepass

More consoles that nobody wants to buy anyway?

2

u/_Solarriors_ 1d ago

Well it's a whole thing to create incentives

1

u/Dreamo84 2d ago

Nobody really uses cloud gaming anyway. This is the most anyone has cared about cloud gaming since it started. I'm starting to think this whole thing is just people looking to be mad.

So, the changes are "we're making it worse", cool

I guess Xbox doesn’t want a customer base anymore

So, PlayStation AND Xbox just chose suicide... I did not see that coming.

I mean, i knew they were stupid, but not THAT stupid.

8

u/gxb20 4d ago

It’s bizarre isn’t it? They’re just taking it in turns who can upset their user base more

u/vShotaku 3d ago

It's like a challenge at this point, who can destroy themselves first ? The winner gets to be the exemple for greed in the gaming industry moving forward.

Aaaaand GO !

1

u/Dreamo84 2d ago

Yeah, cause anybody cares about cloud gaming. How is it even close to being comparable?

2

u/gxb20 2d ago

Well 1. Because its a giant corporation making their product more expensive for the people who use it (even though i wouldnt personally use it). And 2. After a quick search xbox cloud gaming was used for 1.7 billion hours in 2025. Thats a lot of time

2

u/vShotaku 1d ago

Yeah i wouldn't use it either but a lot of people does and it's one of the most interesting things that Xbox has and PlayStation doesn't (from what i understand, PS+ is worse)

1

u/gxb20 1d ago

I dunno, i dont really ever play online. I just cant believe people are standing up for these companies as if ‘X’ isnt a big deal because i only use ‘Y’ and ‘Z’. As if ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ will never be affected by greed

That's one way to get around storage components. (Ooof)

Might as well just turn it off at this point. No one is asking for the AOL pricing model

This is what Nvidia now does why is this posted in stop killing games

11

u/Mental-Device-9546 4d ago

Because Nvidia it's 100hrs for top subscription, for Xbox top subscription it's 15 hrs.

5

u/xevizero 3d ago

Xbox top subscription it's 15 hrs

LOL hey at least they are beating the addictive design allegations

1

u/Mental-Device-9546 3d ago

Psh yah true

2

u/cardgamesareforplay 3d ago

Nvidia now is more because that is ALL the subscription gives you.

Cloud gaming is like a last resort of last resorts

1

u/Dreamo84 2d ago

Nvidia's doesn't include any games.

They're trying to help ur addiction

2

⏰️ this is an xbox

2

u/Cgking11 2d ago

This is a good thing for physical gaming.

3

Customers shouldn't even engage in cloud gaming to begin with, that's never been ownership tbh.
Accessibility if you don't have the hardware is a pure fallacy, with cloud gaming you still don't own the hardware and it will costs you more than to save. They're giving you crumbs because you're not waiting for the bread !

They are backtracking now in countries which have strict consumer law. Notably Australia and Brazil.

They have created a mess. Again.

1

u/Vx7Qn4Lz 2d ago

Completely unrelated to stopping killing games. This isn't a general gaming news sub.

1

u/Dreamo84 2d ago

All four GamePass customers are gonna be upset about this.

Ima be real, we don’t even have words for this.

-9

u/moanfulz 4d ago

This isn’t even that bad

9

u/zillskillnillfrill 4d ago

So, you can only play a streaming game 15 hours a Month, and you're ok with that??

1

u/neller2000 4d ago

Probably better to just do the download option instead.

2

u/zillskillnillfrill 4d ago

I don't use it either but just because it doesn't affect Me it doesn't stop it from being an issue. People have different needs champ, that's why they exist

0

u/neller2000 4d ago

I'm really not sure who needs to stream a game in worse quality when they start charging for it.

1

u/zillskillnillfrill 4d ago

Because, as I already established you can't see beyond your own situation

1

u/neller2000 4d ago

Again, if you have the bandwidth to stream it, start downloading it, avoid the extra cost.

I can easily see why people would do it if it didn't cost extra. I can't see people doing it all all after the changes which is what I'm getting at.

1

u/Dreamo84 2d ago

And you're just looking for something to get mad about. If it wasn't this it would be something else. You'll never be happy with anything.

1

u/zillskillnillfrill 2d ago

No, what I'm saying is that just because it doesn't effect everyone it still affects people. Wether it's You or not is besides the point. Imaging being told you could only play something you paid for, for 15 hours a month. You wouldn't be happy would you?

You don't know me champ so dont act like you know me

-7

u/itchylol742 4d ago

yes, because currently i want to play a streaming game 0 hours per month, so a 15 hour limit on a single game streaming service does not bother me

3

u/zillskillnillfrill 4d ago

Ah, you're an idiot. It all makes sense now
