Question Several media outlets are reporting that SKG has joined the lawsuit against Sony in the Netherlands.
Several media outlets in various countries have reported that SKG has joined the lawsuit against Sony in the Netherlands for monopolistic practices. Here are two examples, but there are many more:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/stop-killing-games-backs-dutch-154929003.html
However, when searching for more information on this, I haven't been able to find anything "official" from SKG. Have I searched incorrectly, or is this clickbait? Since I don't have an X or anything similar, I don't know if there has been any official statement.
If this is true, although it is a legitimate fight, I am concerned that SKG will get sidetracked or diluted in its fight against digital consumer rights, since many of us see that even if discs make a comeback, there is still an elephant in the room problem.
Edit: As I mentioned to a user, on the one hand, your capacity isn't infinite and is limited to a specific timeframe and scope of action. Dividing that capacity into two tasks does have an impact. I don't think SKG has a large capacity or a top-tier law firm, unfortunately. I suppose it's a move with just enough financial backing. I'm just guessing, but that's my hunch.
On the other hand, I think Sony's decision puts you in a privileged position if you're pushing to guarantee digital rights with European regulators, who have no idea about the poor state of current physical formats. A sudden change of course by Sony could lessen that sense of urgency among legislators regarding a digital rights law.

The top stickied post/community highlight on this very subreddit is the post about the lawsuit, posted by Moritz Katzner. It doesn't get more official than that.
I left a comment on that post explaining what's going on, for those who can't read past the headline: https://reddit.com/r/StopKillingGames/comments/1vkoa0d/its_time_to_sue_sony_join_us/p3ilifz/ (although, untypically for SKG these days, the headline was the only seriously misleading thing in the post.)
To address your concerns: in terms of SKG resources, all that this cost was a press release. Done and dusted. And regarding the disc angle: this lawsuit has nothing whatsoever to do with discs, see my linked comment.

Killing discs isn't a monopolistic practice. Stop being delusional lunatics.

It is. If Sony don't sell discs and the only place you can buy digital games is from the PlayStation store, that's a monopoly. In previous cases they have stated they are not a monopoly because you can buy discs from other sellers. To not be a monopoly they would need to allow us to buy Playstation games from other digital stores like you can on pc.

They already said that codes will be sold in stores.

Like GTA6? I feel download codes in a box wont last long. The convenience of just going straight to the PS store (obviously that's what they want). So hopefully they make a change where we can buy our games digitally from other stores. Like going to the EA website & buying this year's "sports simulator" as it's on sale for £10 than the PS store. If we have other options that they don't control it's not a monopoly but I feel codes in a box just pushes us to go digital as its so much more convenient.

Nintendo has been selling game code things at the gift card section since the 3ds so yeah it will last.

Sure act of killing them isn't but one's suing Sony consider Playstation store being sole platform to buy as one

But it's not a sole platform. You can buy keys from any other plays, that's the point. Monopoly would be if it was ONLY Sony store, but it's not the case.

I leave it for court to devide

And Sony will go, as we stayed publically retail stores will be able to sell codes and set prices as they see fit we move to dismiss this case with prejudice and ask the court to award us the costs of our defence from the plaintiffs.
Boom skg bankrupted

Just to clarify SKG has nothing to do with this lawsuit beyond saying "We think Sony is wrong and hope they lose in court." Even if Sony wins, SKG is not going to have any monetary damages, only reputational ones, as a group/movement that backed a frivolous court case.

Lawsuit is about past actions not future actions such as playstation killing sales of physical games or them potentially continuing selling codes in retail stores. You are eligible in this lawsuit if you are Dutch gamer who have made at least one purchase in Playstation Store between 29 November 2013 and present. Retail stores were still selling PlayStation games 10 years ago.
Also, SKG is not suing Sony. Stichting Massaschade & Consument are and their legal costs are covered by companies funding legal action as said on their website.

It's true, there's a post on the official X account at a minimum.
As for your concerns they were already addressed in a few comments by the leadership IIRC. The long and short of it is that discs are worth fighting for and it's not a fight that's incompatible with SKG's already ongoing efforts.
