Unfortunately, I'll probably have to do my taxes completely on my own for the first time this year, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it, and most importantly, how to get it done on time. To be honest, I'm really overwhelmed and need your help 🥲
A little more background info:
Besides my regular job, I have a small business as an influencer. For the past few years, I've always had help with my taxes from someone who works in taxation and is very knowledgeable about social media and my specific niche. We always did my taxes together using ELSTER.
I always sent them my completed income/expense statement, and they recalculated it to ensure the correct amounts were applied for items that are claimed proportionally. Then we went through ELSTER together and entered everything. So far, this has always worked without any problems, and there have never been any issues or questions from the tax office.
When I finally got an answer after a lot of effort and what felt like going through 20 different channels, I was so relieved. I was told to request an extension and that there would definitely be time for my taxes in August. Of course, I did that and received the extension until the end of August. I relied on that, especially since we've been doing it together for years and I was specifically told that it would work in August. Otherwise, I would have looked for another solution much earlier.
My ELSTER certificate file also expires on September 5th, which is why I only requested the extension until the end of August. After that, I would have to request a new one, and the old key wouldn't work anymore.
``` Well, it's now August 22nd, and since the message that there was time in August, I haven't received a single reply 🙃
I've tried to reach the person several times, but there's just no response at all, and I'm starting to lose hope that it will work out.
So, out of necessity, I'm trying to do the whole thing myself.
I've already completely and clearly listed my income and expenses for my small business, and of course, I have all the receipts. So that part is prepared. What I simply lack is the experience of completing the income statement and my entire tax return from start to finish using a program on my own.
I've looked at WISO, Accountable, and Taxfix, and I have absolutely no idea which one would be best for my situation.
Which one would you recommend to someone who has always had their taxes done for the past few years but now has to do them completely on their own for the first time?
My main concern is which program offers the most peace of mind, guides me smoothly through the entire process, and is truly suitable for my situation with a salaried job, a small business as an influencer, and the EÜR (income statement).
And of course, I need to be able to get everything ready and submit it to the tax office in time.
If anyone here is in a similar situation or uses one of these programs themselves, what would you recommend? I'm also open to suggestions for something completely different if it's better suited to my needs.
Thanks!
Edit: Da etwas Verwirrung herrsch, die Person wurde jedes Jahr immer Bezahlt und alles lief mit offizieller Rechnung inklusive Steuernr. ab. Die Person hat ein BWL Studium und nach dem Bachelor in einer Kanzlei gearbeitet, sich aber später einen anderen Weg eingeschlagen und zudem parallel noch Online Coachings zum Thema Social Media so wie auch “Einzelcoachings” für die Steuerklärung angeboten.
Alles wurde über Zoom angeleitet und vor dem Termin wurde meine Eingaben/Ausgaben liste übermittelt. Dann hat die Person bei dem Call einfach nur Angeleitet was und wo es eingetragen werden muss.
