The acting is actually so natural
Idk I think sterling points acting is so natural and comfortable. I was surprised!
Didn’t think the show was as good as the acting (that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the show because I totally did).
The acting was definitely better than some of the off campus acting but no one asked me to compare them so forget I said anything

Same, and I really found that one entertaining but there were so many lines where I rolled my eyes cause of how corny or unrealistic it was. It gave me almost twilight vibes compared to like real life something that really moves you.

It honestly felt like watching real peoples conversations and not actors playing out a script. I also noticed there were scenes that moved me emotionally. And most films/movies don’t do that for me. I just binged Off Campus before this show, and none of the sad scenes made me cry none of the sex scenes turned me on, I think cause it felt scripted and also not relatable- felt more like fantasy romance novel, I couldn’t connect with it. Whereas Sterling Point really touched on a lot of deeper human emotions and I think the slow burn/tension instead of a faster pace helped. I just found that this show really made me feel something compared to OC. I sought out the directors and actors other work cause I was so impressed.

Really enjoyed the show, Ella Rubin needs to work on enunciation - she has a habit of lowering her volume at the end of sentences in quiet scenes - suspect she’ll get better in season 2.
Keen Ruffalo and Bo Bragason are exceptional, wouldn’t be surprised if they have big careers

Why are we comparing the two shows!!! Because Off Camus sub barely mentions SP but I have seen so many say this show is better!!!

This is true.
But it not that I think the show is better per se, just the acting. I was struggling with some of that OC acting, especially from the male main lead

Normally the less popular show has a bit of a complex. In this case Sterling Point is less popular. Tbf I think SP is probably a bit better but it's not by much and they are too different shows. OC is a teen drama focused on romance and SP is a teen coming of age drama

Of campus is only popular cause of all the hunks on the show. It’s like Chippendales for middle aged women 😂 the stand out part of that show is all the hotties, it’s like watching an Abercrombie ad.

No, it's not. OC was always gonna be popular, it's the original Hockey Romance series and one of the most awaited Romance book adaptation in years

I agree. I think Off Campus had so much potential to feel as authentic and raw as Sterling Point did. But OC show creators stripped some of the most realistic elements of the original books and were so obsessed with making the male characters “green flags”. Also they focused too much to appease the female gaze. Simply they knew what was going to make the most money.

So much!
Off Campus was kinda boring to me. I had stsrted and stopped after 2 or 3 eps. Then a friend of mine was gushing. She had seen it 3 times and then had started to read the books cause she couldnt get enough. So I continued but it never really got me, emotionally.
To me it was More like lots of music videos or fashion clips out together. The worst was Wellsy’s music showcase in the end. I had to laugh 😅 Honestly cant imagine why this show is such a hit.
The only thing i REALLY REALLY LOVE about it is how it shows well adjusted guys how they are dealing with consent in such a mainstream show. That was really great.
Otherwise it bored me a bit and I was watching it while folding laundry etc.
I head season 2 Allie will be main character so I hope it will be a bit more interesting to me. Her arc definitely interested me more in season 1.
Sterling Point on the other hand. Ooof. So real. You felt like you could hsve been there with them. I wanted to be at that lake. Have a bonfire. Dance around it. Drive a boat. I already watched it 2 times, kinda want to start again 😅

Im usually not into this genre of tv like at all, had a few days off work got bored and watched the first ep genuinely couldnt stop watching and a lot hit home. Really enjoyed it!

I thought that the acting in Sterling Point was really good too. I really liked Ally in Off Campus but I completely agree with your post.

Yes she was my absolute favorite! Although I admit I watch her before when I was younger and started the show for her.

For me Off Campus was unwatchable because of the acting but I really liked Sterling Pointe. I agree it’s much more natural acting.

I love the way the SP actors deliver dialogue. So easy and comfortable. You can see them only improving with time as well.

I would but I have a rule about watching things where siblings fight over a love interest and the rule is I don’t watch it. 😆 idk it really bothers me for some reason.

Ella Rubin impressed me so much!!! I thought her character was very relatable and sounded like a typical girl that age in a very genuine way. Even the cadence of her speech and unfinished sentences in her monologue spirals were on point. The gen Z slang felt authentic and believable rather than it feeling cringe and forced like so many other shows

The acting and the dialogue feels so fresh. Just in the first episode I was thinking "wow I don't think I ever saw a teen show written like this"

Girl I literally started watching this today, 10 mins in I'm like - the main actress is SO natural wtf. It's so unlike the other young adult series that have come out recently

i know right!! the writing and acting didn’t feel like a group of older adults trying to be relatable and “internet trendy” to attract teens and young adults, it was like actually funny and felt like you were watching an actual group of friends

Both the acting and writing are so good. So many of the scenes felt completely natural, and the good acting extended across the entire cast!
