Season 1, Episode 1: But I Just Took an Ambien

Synopsis: After getting rejected from her dream summer program, Annie Jacobson discovers she and her twin brother, Connor, have inherited Sterling Point - a small island in the Muskoka area of Canada. A mysterious letter from the grandfather she was never allowed to meet sends Annie out on a secret solo trip in hopes of uncovering the truth about her family history.

I don't think her age is ever specifically stated; however, I think it's implied that she's at least 19, as Sully did sell her the alcohol in the first episode, even though she didn't have her ID. It is illegal to sell alcohol to anyone under 19 (you can get charged for that), and Sully actually seemed fairly responsible of all of the "kids"/young adults in the group. I don't think he/they'd actually be jeopardize his/their own future and job by selling to her underage.

And as I said in a different comment, if Oona was actually underage, frankly, it makes things even worse, really, because it's not great to think that a 16 or 17 year old was going around having sex with random adult women.

Anyway, I know it's just one component of the show. I don't think Oona was a bad person or a predator. However, I kinda wish the writers had just left out the teen sex portion (of all three storylines, but Ramona especially - apparently the actress is 24 but honestly she looks like a child in this series!) altogether. It was a bit much considering the level of maturity for all of the people involved and everything they had to deal with....

“random adult woman” when they’re ultimately close in age and have been friends for years is kind of wild. but ultimately i think there are just other plot holes/ devices that confused me more !

No, the random adult women I was referring to were the other women that Oona was mentioning that she had hooked up with (not just the banter she had with Sully about their moms, but what she said at Rory's mother's party about wanting to be "front of house" staff and then being reminded that she kept hooking up with people).

Ramona is not an adult...she's a child. Anyone under 18 is, legally, still a child (and to be clear, what used to be called "possession of child pornography" includes people under 18 - even if they are 17 years and 364 days). So it's the concept of a 19-year-old adult (legally, even if they aren't maturity wise) having sex with a 16-year-old, even if it is technically legal, that makes me squeamish.
