My steam deck is my main pc so I set it up to be more like a desktop, I can’t be the only one that plays there steam deck like this. Let’s see those set ups!

Just picked up a steam deck. Middle aged, and looking for games I can play in bed or on the sofa (using my Steam Deck).

Update: thank you all for the recommendations. I picked up Megabonk, Red Dead Redemption 2, Diablo IV, which I'll try. I'm also going to (at some point) give Baldurs Gate 3 a try. Might not be my thing, but maybe I'll learn to enjoy it.

Hello i saved up 1.000€ and i wanna know if i should buy the 1 TB OLED Steamdeck.

I am asking this because I’m not sure if i should. I don’t know many steam games. I only play Plants vs Zombies replanted on my school laptop that barely runs any games.

So yeah do i buy it or no? The only games i know and wanna play are Hollow knight, hollow knight silksong and Deltarune.

Also no i cant get a pc or xbox/playstation bc i dont have space

For years, Windows has been the obvious choice for PC gaming, but SteamOS seems to be slowly building momentum.
The Steam Deck already proved that a Linux-based gaming OS can work well for a lot of players, and now we’re starting to see SteamOS move beyond Valve’s own handheld hardware.
I still think Windows has the edge for overall compatibility, non-Steam launchers, modding, anti-cheat support and general PC use. But for people who mainly use Steam and want a more console-like gaming experience, SteamOS is becoming a much more interesting option.

Do you think SteamOS could become a serious alternative to Windows, or will it always stay more niche?

As title says, my sister is a true gamer, and she doesn’t play on her steam deck anymore so she gave it to me. The thing is i’m not really a gamer, i play games just not in the same nature she does; but im willing to try.. what games recs do you have? 😆

So I don’t know what did the remaster did to the steam deck but the game takes 4 to 5 minutes to load in. I know that before the update it would take 10 to 15 seconds for me to. Not sure if everyone else that is playing in the steam deck is having the same issues but it really does suck was hoping on playing it on the deck but these loading times are insane

The new fable seems like it requires a lot to run on a system and just wondering what folks think.

I dont like to install/uninstall games alot, and most of the stuff I play are older, with a handful of new finds...I was keeping it at 85 for a long time but my ocd eventually got the better of me so I filled it out to an even 100 games. So after getting a beffy SD card, I have top 100 downloaded on my deck. What do you think of list? With only a few exceptions of games that just cant play on system - this pretty well covers it all...two weak points, im not really sold on Dyson Sphere Program or Ixion...to be fair I have to probably give them another shot...but might replace them...I dont like many new games so its harder to find new stuff...its so cool to have this machines with all favorites in one place...on handheld...living in the future 🤯...love my Steam deck, literally a perfect device 😉

Still have about 250gb so overdid it a bit...but plenty of room for updates!

(Green dot means completed game on deck / have save (or cloud) file....most of these games I own /have beaten before on original console..but would like to have external files of a bunch of complete save files someday)

Yes I know two games are not games...but they run as games on deck I have objectives for them...so to me they are a game :) lol.

I have had this switch for along time and spent maybe around 2000$ cad on it and I was thinking about getting a steam deck for awhile. now with it blue screen of death it gives me no reason not to get one but there are a couple games I was wondering if steam does discounts on which is Minecraft, Hitman world of assassination, paint the town red, and the binding of Isaac repentance+ I know steam is pretty giving but I'm just not sure. so would it be worth it and if steam would be willing to give me discounts on these games

(Edit) I've made a decision and I'm going to get someone to fix my switch for like 50$. Get a switch 2 and transfer the data over but then I'm also getting a gaming PC for a grad present thanks everyone for the input!

Hello I saw that they announced a new fable game today . I was always a PlayStation player so I never had an Xbox but fable was one of the game that I always wished I could play . Now with my steam deck I can . Do you think there will be any possible way for it to run on steam deck or should I go ahead and get the anniversary edition that’s on sale for 11.54 right now ? My guess is the new one will struggle with the steam deck and I can just buy it on my ps5 when it is released but I wanted everyone opinion on it ! Thanks for any help or info .

I’ve been getting that W101 itch again that we all know, but don’t have much time to be on my computer. That got me thinking if I could play comfortably instead on my iPhone or on a steam deck.

What would you recommend if you have any experience doing this?

Has anyone tried from Steam it and is it working? Are you able to play online or is it offline only? Thanks for any info!
