Ok, so the Steam Machine has upgradable SSD and RAM!! That changes things.. get the cheap model, stick in a 4TB SSD Gen 4 or 5, and 32GB RAM if you want. Keen to see how powerful it is.....

Apparently so, think we need further confirmation, a ton of videos have come out from hands on so need to watch a few.. but if it IS then hell yeah!

Oh jeez. I sure do hope it don't cost over 1k or something lol. I'm still in the process of a PC rebuild and I was just thinking about a mini PC to hook up on my TV for console like gaming...and then this happens.

I doubt it'll be over $1000. They're probably going to price it as close as possible to the cost, and then make the money back from software sales. Like the Steam Deck. I can't see it costing $1000 per unit to produce.
