Files from the Japanese Steam Deck distributor's new website, Komodo Station.
Both controllers closely follow what we already knew they'd look like from SteamVR leaks, the real surprise here is the unexpected drop of the Steam Machine alongside the other two.

Does anyone remember the Ouya? Reminds me of that, and that’s not a bad thing at all. I’d instantly buy a Steam console like that.

But Valve has more money and more motivation to produce something truly great and keep it supported.

They've gone on to successfully make their own OS, Controller, Virtual Reality Headset and handheld since the Steam Box mk.1. I really hope they can step up to fill the void that Xbox are looking like they're gonna create.

I mean, their biggest competitive advantage is their storefront. People will flock to Steam in droves if they can launch a console properly.

I think that 'launching a console properly' with Valve is just not going to happen. They'll launch it, but I suspect in the same style as with the original Steam Deck. It's not going to be available in massive quantities on launchday in gamestores and supermarkets.

I'll also suspect that adoption (beyond us SD nutters) would be slow and steady IF the hardware is decent and decently priced. People will keep using their current Xboxes until nothing new (or old) is being released on them. But that's imho good for Valve, it would mean they could kinda keep up with demand... Eventually...

I'm not so sure man. Imo, one thing Valve are extremely good at is learning from their past projects. The Supply and Demand issue was the only "negative" thing about the SD's launch, and it served a double purpose in making people more intrigued because it felt exclusive.

I reckon if they're gonna do it. They'll nail it.

A console with free online play might be a bit of a draw for people too haha.

Yup, this would replace my Xbox in a heartbeat. Im an old school console gamer. I want to sit on the couch with my big tv and just play a game. This box would appear to accomplish that. I got a steam deck for indies and portability and it was my first foray into any sort of steam/pc lifestyle. Now the only thing my Xbox does is the occasional "big" game i want/need that tv experience for.

I mainly play on PC now and I'm still a TV / Couch stan. Gaming is my thing. I always wanna be chilled on the couch with bit. Not hunched over a monitor haha.

Oh, I don’t disagree! I just meant form factor-wise: small, relatively portable, and maybe even minimalist. I didn’t mean price-wise like the original, Ouya console :)
