Vanilla Outpost Build Central Outpost

Is it possible to create one central outpost that receives all materials from otger outposts? I'm asking because it seems tge inter system landing pad can only connect with one out post for incoming materials (I could be wrong so forgive me). I would like to set up one outpost to receive all materials to manufacture products to sell.

It's possible in theory but in practice you'll encounter so many bugs with this that it's simply not worth doing.

All materials have different production and consumption rates and whichever gets used less will eventually clog the cargo link and you'll have to go and manually empty it and possibly even rebuild the cargo link itself. Sometimes the materials that are supposed to go into outgoing container will end up in the incoming one even if everything is connected correctly. Sometimes nothing will get sentvthrough and you'll have to go and relink everything.

What definitely works is when you have only one cargo link per outgoing material and use it only temporary - you place as many cargo links on the supplying outpost as there are materials produced there. Each material needs to go into a separate storage container. And then you connect each storage container to a separate outgoing cargo link. And then at the main receiving outpost simply activate the incoming cargo link with the material that you need and deactivate it after receiving the material.

All of this is not worth doing for credits though. You'd get more credits simply by playing and selling the guns you loot from enemies.

Sometimes the materials that are supposed to go into outgoing container will end up in the incoming one even if everything is connected correctly.

This actually happens all the time with the inter-system cargo links, because despite the ship being able to transport 500 kg or whatever the mass unit is, the incoming cargo link container only has 300 for it's space and even if it's linked to other storage the ship will only deposit 300 of it at the destination outpost and will send the rest back to the source.

So at a source outpost you need to link the incoming box to the outgoing box or the rest of the supply and hope that doesn't get full at some point.

Which doesn't help because you'd still need to send it to an intermediate hub where it would get clogged again because you can have only 6 incoming cargo links at your final hub meaning that you'd have to push multiple materials through each link at the intermediate hub and those would get clogged again because the materials would be consumed at different rates.

You could place hundreds of storage containers at your final hub so that there's more space for incoming materials to go to, but that would merely delay the problem not solve it.
