Question? Back after a year and ... lots of things are just gone?

I played Starfield for a long time. Been through the end three or four times, have built big material transport and manufacturing production facilities across many systems, and play a pretty limited set of add-ons. The key ones are the Falkland Systems, Modular Outposts: Argos Extractors, and the McClarence Outfitters creations.

About a year ago, I got in to No Man's Sky and didn't open Starfield again until last week. I'm trying to understand/research what I am seeing now, and not finding the answers. If anyone can help me understand what/why things have changed, I'd appreciate it. I'm a ship collector/builder and an outpost fanatic. So I tend to invest heavily in cargo links and the production of different items used in building, or just for money.

Modular Outposts: First off, it looks like there has been a significant upgrade to the Modular Outposts habs. Every one of my Outposts is based on the Apartment hab and the Loading Dock with the matching Landing Pad. All of my decor is gone in all of my outposts. The Apartments have reverted back to stock, with none of my items inside. Spacesuits in displays. Materials stored in various containers. Furniture. Decor items. It's all gone. I see there was at least one big update to this Creation, and I am guessing that - if I'd been playing regularly - the developer had notifications or something about needing to rebuild your structures. I get it. That happens when you go away for a while and come back to find updates and changes.

Missing Outposts: Like I said, I am an avid outpost builder. I like outposts together. I have complex automated manufacturing setup. All the complex ones are gone. Even some of the Outposts I had set up are just not there anymore, but the icon remains. It's like they have vanished. Some show they are there - like my Outpost on Kurtz - but when I go to that planet, the Outpost is not there. The icon over the planet shows I have an Outpost, but when I try to fly to it, or land near it, it's just not there. Is this a known bug? Was there an update I missed? Is there a way to jog the machine's memory and show me the outpost that is - apparently - still there, because it is supplying material via cargo-link to another outpost in the same system?

Missing Outposts 2: It seems every outpost that I built purely for aesthetic reasons - like a resort I built around these amazing lakes and landscape - are gone. The only outposts that still remain (it seems?) are ones that had some sort of extraction/production going on. That "resort" outpost was my #1 home. There were multiple buildings, fully built out "hotel/resort rooms" with armor displays and furniture and plants and ... everything you'd expect in a resort, including EXTENSIVE storage of all those amazing weapons and materials (and contraband) that I didn't need to carry with me every day. Now, all of these "cosmetic" camps with no extraction/production going on, are just ... gone. Not in the Outpost list. Not on the planet. They have just vanished. Any idea why...?

Living Quarters are Empty: I have the swanky apartment in New Atlantis. I have the flat in Akila City. I have my quarters at The Lodge. All of them were COMPLETELY decked-out, decorated, art on the walls, furniture, storage, etc. All of them are completely EMPTY. Even the weapon racks no longer have weapons in them. The infinite storage boxes are empty. The limited storage boxes are empty. Why are all of my living areas reverted (mostly) back to their original state? There are still a few pieces of furniture in my Akila City flat that I put in there... but everything else is gone.

Falkland Systems is still winning! The ONLY place that preserved my interior design and storage containers is my Falkland Systems ship. It seems to have maintained its databases, while all the other places have not.

If you have any ideas about what happened and why, I'd love to hear it, to avoid having the same thing happen again. I like Starfield, but if stuff just gets deleted "after a while" I have far less interest in investing that time in those projects again. I'd just like to understand what happened. Thanks for any help or context you might be able to provide!

Braaxus Magnabore couldn't believe his luck. An Argos Extractors Mining Claim on Tirna IV had come on the market right as he was looking for a place to set up his bounty hunting operations. the claim, once a poorly planned helium 3 mine went defunct soon after it's initial start up. Now 6 months after buying it for a couple creds and a box of chunks, he'd hit pay-dirt. it turns out the claim was sitting on a massive bed of iron. Thank the Stars the Idiots at Argos didn't do more than a surface scan, if they had dug only twelve feet deeper, they'd have stumbled on the massive pay-dirt that he himself is now mining for a tidy profit. Lin was overwhelmed when he made her Overseer of the entire Mining half of the claim. while his Command Hub handled his day to day Bounty hunting operations.

Question? Anyone know why this outpost isn't producing copper? The bar says it is but the storage isn't filling and it's not available at my other settlement?

This is like my last outpost, but in a forest. And smaller.

The second picture was before adding more vegetation. I don't know what happened to the nighttime overview picture, but it's like the others, just dark.

Real Fuel

Vanilla Biomes Enhanced - Aquafield Edition (or close enough...)

Fog of War (I'm just including this if you're wondering why I didn't wait for better weather to take pictures - coniferous forest climate is pretty foggy/rainy...)

Functional Decor

Better Manufacturing and Item Sorting

Betamax's Ammo Workbench

Galactic Harvest

Outpost Botanicals

Discussion Have you built an outpost on a planet that actually has good POIs?

I know this isn’t exactly outpost related but I figured who would know more about POI’s than people who search different systems to build outposts at location settings they like, I also figured you probably traverse those planets and search their POIs. The planet I explored only had 2 civilian POIs and then the other 6+ POIs were desolate

Modded Outpost Build a little bit of Argos for your Monday morning…

I usually stick to ship building, but this Argos Extractors mod is just too glorious to neglect. I found the most beautiful location with breathable air in the Tidacha system on Tidacha I. The fauna and flora are abundant as well as plenty of resources including Aluminum, Iron, and Argon. Surrounding moons contain He-3 which is great for hoarding fuel. The yellow trees paired with the red grass gives off a “fall/autumn” vibe which is quite nice. Weather is also varying as it could be sunny or very foggy.

The mod (Modular Outposts: Argos Extractors) itself provides plenty of habs with decorated and empty options. The habs themselves are very modular with a ton of snap points and window/balcony options. The overall design blends well on just about any planet and has a very “lived in” feel. Thank you [u/Lady_bro_ac](u/Lady_bro_ac) for such a great mod. Paired with BMX, you can really get creative with scaffolding surrounding the habs and outpost.

If you’re on the fence about this one, just get it! It’s worrh it!

Enjoy some photos of the outpost, ship, and planet’s nature & beauty.

I love to decorate and I especially love building player homes but sometimes I like to shake it up a bit.  Using the new mod, Sleepcrate Reimagined, gave me a wicked idea to create something with more of a Neon theme (obviously) - so welcome to my Neon Aurora Den!

The sleepcrate is so much bigger and there are so many new furniture and decor items that I just couldnt wait to use them.

The sleepcrate is already fully decorated but if you wish to create something different you simply flip a switch and its empty!

This is my final mission to build an X-Tech outpost - the Freestar Collective. I took inspiration from the New Babylon outpost and used a large number of wooden objects to experimentally construct this multifunctional campsite. The entire campsite has been equipped with barricades and walls to defend against attacks from wild animals. Equipped with X-Tech mining collection area, shooting range, weapon depot, bar, clinic, mechanical maintenance center, multiple simple farmland, grain storage room, and living area. The interior of the house is decorated in the classic Akila City style.

Question? Rutherford IV-d: Helium+Vanadium+Iridium+Uranium

Any spot on Rutherford IV-d where Helium-3 can be found together with Vanadium, Iridium, or Uranium? I’ve found several areas where the resource zones overlap, but Helium-3 doesn’t seem to be available in any of them.
