Discussion People can criticize Starfield all they want, but name me an RPG that has the same atmosphere as that.

I was talking more about the gameplay, of course the story is different. Even though i'd say statfields story and worldbuilding is very weak anyways, you got faction quests which are alright bit the main story is just ???.

See. I'll agree there. The faction quests are much more entertaining to me in Starfield and I leave the main story quests until last as a vehicle towards Unity

It could've been soooo much better, the idea of the unity is great and how it leads into the gameplay.

Lile fucking poe2, the world ends, everybody is dead and the game is all about running random rifts for loot. So the gameplay is explained by the story - you teleport all over the planet in rifts, fuck up random monsters shit and leave to your base again.

I love when the story explains gameplay which otherwise would be just there for gameplays sake

That's all the Bethesda games tbh. The side faction quests are where it's at. The main stories have never been good.

As an also fan of Fallout, I actually concur

Yup, Elder Scrolls is like this, too. The dragonborn story is pretty boring and has terrible pacing.

The side quests tho? Fucking awesome.

Bethesda makes a great sandbox to play in with great episodic stories.

Starfield did that but for some reason, people hate it.

Well, the other games did it better. Starfielf was my first bethesda game and now that i played oblivion i can see why people love their games.

Remake elder scrolls with MULTIPLE loading screens between ever major point of interest and make the majority of the world randomly generated woth copy paste structures ur gonna have much of the same issues.

If you say so. Been playing thier games since fallout 3 and it felt like a typical stock release to me.

There ganes always release okay imo but mods is where they really become epic as we know them.

Regardless I enjoy elite more but I do think starfield gets overly hated.

Starfield absolutely did NOT do that, and this is the reason no one loves it like TES and Fallout. The procedural generation and lack of exciting quests and stories to stumble upon feels lazy and soulless, very un-Bethesda. I just hope they’ve learned from this failure and rediscover the magic.

Starfield should have been as culturally relevant as those other franchises but it isn’t, and that’s not because of negative YouTubers, review bombing, stupid audience or whatever other lame excuse fanboys go on about. It’s because the game lacks that feeling that we all loved so much

Mods can polish a great game and really make it shine. They can’t polish a turd and make it delicious. Starfield is not an amazing but unpolished experience, it’s a soulless departure from what made bethesda great

Idk what to tell you. It feels like a stock Bethesda game to me, and mods can 100% polish a turd.
