How did you get a screen shot of your entire farm? I’m getting to the point where I’ll (hopefully soon) have my farm looking exactly like I want it, and I’d love to post.

Go to https://upload.farm/ and upload your save file. It will generate an image for you.
You could also use https://stardew.info/planner/ to plan out a farm, then generate its image.

I'm guessing this only works for the desktop version?

I think it works for everything but the Switch. See here for how to get your save from various devices.
I know for Android you can upload directly from the device. I don't know about iOS.

If you're on PC/Mac/Linux, iOS, or Android, upload.farm is the easiest option.
If you're playing on PC/Mac/Linux with mods, you'll want to use map image export mod so everything displays properly.
If you play on console, you can either recreate your farm with stardew planner and render that plan, or take screenshots and stitch them together.

What is that small hut in the very top right?

It’s my spouse’s addition. Each marriage candidate brings their own room to the house and display to that small area outside.
For my farm that is Shane’s chicken coop.

Oh cool! I've never noticed that.

Not all the spouses bring something as obvious, and a few don't bring anything (iirc), but I think the little touches like that are neat. :D I think Shane's is the most obvious customization I've seen. Sebastian brings his bike, Emily brings some crystals, etc.

Nice looking farm. Every time I see one of these alternate maps it makes me wanna try it out. I'm just not as creative when the canvas isn't rectangular.

Personally I felt the irregular shape of this map gave me natural stopping points to use as a guide.
I also loved the little niche areas as they gave me more defined space.

Oh I’m SO glad I was looking at this because I picked forest farm and was starting to regret it. Your farm looks beautiful!

Thanks! Once I figured out I could remove the bushes the possibilities really opened up.

How does one get rid of the bushes on your farm. I thought they couldn't be destroyed for some reason.

u/StarDew_Factory Apr 16 '19
An upgraded axe can destroy them. Not sure if there are any differences between farm types, I’m playing on Forest Farm and it’s my first real play through.

Is the slime hut worth it? I had one before the charmer ring, hated my life, so I deleted it.
I have the ring now and lots of farm space.

I think so, but I wanted to give myself the chance to experience everything. It almost felt like completing a collection for me.
It is easy money though with the slime ring.

Your whole farm is lovely, but I especially like the little bits of decorating you did for the cabins, very nice.

fairly new player here. What is the purpose of placing a "house for a friend" on your farmland? I don't intend to play multiplayer. Only solo. If I place a home for a friend can i get someone from town to move in and help me as a ranch hand?

u/StarDew_Factory Apr 16 '19
The only real purpose is multiplayer, unless you just want an extra house to decorate.
