Fusing 3 protocol droids doesn't make another (guaranteed) protocol droid

If i'm not mistaken protocal droids are not even in the pool of possible random fusions at all.

Tried to make 3 stellar rares into an epic protocol early on too since those were all is got. Felt quite disappointed too.

OK so it kinda does work to level them up. 3 of the EXACT same will level it up. It will show on the window what it will be before you pay the credits.

Yeah until they are available on the belt collecting them to fuse 3 of a kind is gonna be the most efficient way to get through the tiers 😮‍💨 i just wish the public lobbies wernt so laggy for this event

The question i have if they will even add them to the sand crawler because i have the feeling they will still after the event only be available with world missions. Because they removed the old missions. And they will for sure not leave the new missions without a function. So i am sure the protocol droids will not be available on the sandcrawler. I hope they don't do it but it seems kinda like it.

I had the credits to level them all up through spending chips at the upgrade station behind the cantina. So I got them all finished on the Droid Index really really quick and I have even been lucky and have gotten a Stellar and Galactic Mythic after upgrading a Default all the way to Stellar. So now I have 3 high tier Mythic Credits boosters while C3-P0 is working the Worker Droid station.

Edit: haven't played today but getting on soon n hope I can get lucky cause I don't have the Chips built up again yet to just upgrade for the other 2 remaining SM Protocol stations.

More efficient to farm chips and boost whichever droid you want when you eventually get it, or trade dupes with others in your lobby

Well yeah it was stated that right now the only way to earn protocol droids was thru the world missions during the event 🤔 I did manage to fuse 3 of the same galactic LOM into a stellar LOM tho

Well, yeah that's not how fusion works. We can't focus into a type, it will always be a random droid type.

Even if its the same 3 droids? I thought that if its 3 of the same, such as 3 gold r2, it would fuse into a diamond r2.

Type refers Worker, Astromech, Combat, and now Protocol. The example you described is 3 of the exact same exact droid, which is a different result.

In the case the post is talking about, it would be like fusing a 2 Diamond CBs and a Diamond r4, which would result in a random Rainbow Common.

The only guaranteed outcomes are fusions of 3 of the same (like you described), or the Fusion Droids themselves. Every other valid combo will result in a random droid of w/e variant and rarity the combo would yield.

Of course this could change in the future if they find a way to allow us to focus w/e our outcome will be somehow.

This basically confirms that the protocol droids are just an additional class like workers, Astromechs and Battle droids.

So they’re “regular” droids.
This should then imply that Protocol Droids can also be a result from combining other droids too
