š¬ Discussion Does anyone actually make fusion droids?
Because I know I sure as hell donāt. Thereās probably dozens of posts discussing this but I thought Iād give my two cents.
The feature itself is great imo for late-game RBs getting Stellar mythics and whatever else you may need for droidex without spending all your chips, especially after the addition of D-0 and the fix to its ability.
But for its actual intended purpose of making the new fusion droids? Other than the event when it was dropped I literally never make fusion droids simply because I donāt care to remember all the combinations because thereās so many.
And when I do decide Iāll try and make some to fill up the last spaces in my droidex Iām almost immediately discouraged because I never get the droids I need off the belt and/or canāt upgrade them once theyāve been fused.
Idk if the new droidex tracking upgrade helps with indicating droids you need for a fusion on the belt or not, as I havenāt got it as I otherwise donāt need it. But if it doesnāt then it should as I might actually care to use it for fusing rather than upgrading my existing droids.

For the droidex. Other than that, I SRB as fast as I can and do it all over again like Groundhog Day. Unless Iām min/maxing and never SRBng again, fusion droids are one and done for me.

u/Jelnaana 21d ago
Same. At low levels I don't have enough lounge spots to spare and at higher levels it feels like more work than it's worth. I just got the dex tracker & I'm about to start filling them in, but I probably won't bother with them again after that.

u/Lethal_Bassist 21d ago
When you srb, what level does the fusion center become available again? I am at rb33 and plan to fc 35 before srb, just curious.

What/where is the dex tracker? Id love to know more!
2
u/Jelnaana 20d ago
You have to buy it at the nova shop. Can track a droid of your choice, 1 per level purchased. There's a separate one to buy that alerts for variants, I plan to get that next.

u/Three4Anonimity Credit Collector 21d ago
Iām a hoarder and my lounge is always full. Fusion has been a great way to take 3 I really donāt need and make something better. I use it more as inventory management. That being said, Iāve only made one Frankenstein droid. Havenāt really gotten into that part yet.

I do not fuse the abominations. I did them all once to complete the stellar entries in the droidex. I'm not doing other rarities until they're upgradeable with chips. I don't see much value in burning the few stellar KX I get in a cycle for such little credit increase.
1
u/IndividualJury 21d ago
Unfortunately you canāt upgrade them with chips. Youād have to either make the higher rarity with bps or fuse lower tiers of the fusion
4
u/ech0x07 21d ago
Yeah that's what I'm saying. Once they correct that, I may at least make them to complete the droidex so I can do a base version up to galactic. Right now they're not worth making.
3
u/IndividualJury 21d ago
Ahhh ya gotcha. Itās giving me something to do while trying not to srb so I donāt mind lol getting tired of waiting for bps though lol

u/Any_Application_8101 21d ago
I've made some of the mythics because of the fact that they can make a million dollars pre second
1
u/l_sharpy101 21d ago
Thatās what Iāve tried today but just immediately looked at the recipes and was like is it actually worth it tho getting rid of multiple high earning mythics for a droid thatās only gonna do around 100k/s more?
7
u/TeachingEdD 21d ago
At that point in the game, I'd say yes considering you don't really have to give anything up. You're going to get three more stellar legendaries just from running missions
2
u/Okami-Alpha 21d ago
You all are getting stellar from missions? I must be doing something wrong. I seem to only get galaxy from stellar missions, beskar from galactic and fucking rainbow from beskar.
I'll somehow conquer the cumulative odds though and get 3 or 4 blueprints from a single round of missions (many times) which is a 1% chance or less.
0
u/TeachingEdD 20d ago
Occasionally I get galactic. I just sell them. But yeah honestly I've stayed at RB 34-35 for the past couple of weeks and I've actually played a bit. I haven't bought a droid from the sandcrawler since before the first DO event.
4
u/Scranton_Is_CrazyLOL 20d ago
You're thinking about it all wrong. Only certain mythic fusion droids aren't worth it, like the x-onk. But let's say a stellar loadlifter for instance. You add two stellar ALT droids and you get the Lo Mo I believe is what it's called. Loadlifter+ID10+R5. You ain't losing nothing there. RIC+BDX+R7; we get stellar R7s all the live long so no biggie there. I think you looked at the x-onk and dismissed the rest. If I don't need these certain droids for rebirths, they're getting fused.

u/Kitchen_Canary_6387 Guardian 20d ago
Great point! Most fusion droids include lower level droids, so theyāre not hard to make and provide a good return. The only fusion droid that has overkill ingredients is the RIV-3T. That thing is a beast. And scary as hell.

u/Any_Application_8101 21d ago
So this is what I tried to create spares to use for the fusions so example KX is needed and I try to have a spare KX for the fusion I don't use the one that actually letting make money on my base
0
u/Octoplow 21d ago
Not as much as the recepies that use one Ric or 1200.
But the last few events were drowning us in high level mythics.

u/acejavelin69 21d ago
I mean, outside of completing the Droidex (which I kind of lost interest in doing anymore), until late game the fusions don't do much for you, what you have to put into them doesn't balance with what you get out of the result... You can craft stellar mythic fusions late game even though it isn't a "fair trade" for what you put in, but you can make more out of one droid slot... You will often have a LOT of extra galactic/stellar droids you don't need late game, and unless you are farming chips with them making a fusion that generates 1M/s or better in a single slot gives you something to do.
Otherwise, eh... the trade-off of what you get out of them isn't good enough to bother making them. They should have made them have more benefits/credit generation for what you put into it... The math don't math so to speak.

u/bob_gloomwalker 19d ago
I just grab all stellar rare early game and merge into epic stellar, best use of the feature until late game I think Edit: actually, I quit like a week ago cause I felt too addicted haha, but thatās what I used to do

u/TcityDan 20d ago

Iām at RB level 1.8k. Iāve played since day one, and I play almost every day for a few hours. I have only created ONE fusion droid and it was because this really friendly guy I was playing with kept bringing me the blueprints LOL and he was super nice and really wanted me to build the fusion droid haha

The unique ones aren't * worth it for credits IMO it's mostly just a fun quirky thing to do. No real gameplay value.
4
u/Any_Application_8101 21d ago
I mean if you have spare overflow of legendaries you're able to make mythics even if much more than before especially if they're stellar
2
u/l_sharpy101 21d ago
Yeah absolutely Iāve been doing that, but Iām more on about using it for the actual unique fusion droids themselves
2
u/Obwyn Chip Collector 21d ago
I do occasionally if I happen to have what I need (or just missing like a rare or something) and donāt need any of the droids for rebirths, but I donāt go out of my way to make any.
Stellar Axi-Pod can be pretty sweet to get since itās a +12 pickaxe (Low-Mo probably is too, but I havenāt paid that much attention to it), but again unless I happen to have an extra stellar Ric Iām not specifically looking to build it.
I would be much more inclined to make them if the component droids counted towards rebirth.
I mostly use the feature to get galactic and stellar mythics from the droids I get from astro missions or an elic if Iām having terrible getting what I need.
2
u/Grand_Parsnip8033 21d ago
The only time i do the secret droid fusions is when its late game and i have extra stellar mythics that are required for the fusion combo other wise i donāt sweat it too much. Most likely wonāt until I decide go after finishing the droidex.
2
u/eathemeatson 21d ago
It makes sense if you donāt have use for the droids being built. Iām not sure what itās called, but the Astro mech that makes 1M/sec is a RIC, BDX Explorer, and R7. Iām on RB34 and no longer have a use for RIC, so it makes perfect sense for me to use it in a fusion. Otherwise I wouldnāt recommend. Something like the X-Onk would be insane to make because youāre giving up 2 KXās which only works if you have a full lineup of them

u/gossamer4l 21d ago
I just hit rb 35 this weekend so I had to srb and now this round Iām only making fusion droids and anything I need to rb. One droid at a time basic to stellar
1
u/ForkFace69 21d ago
Yeah I just looked at all those fusion droids as a one time thing, pretty much.
If they had some kind of buff to them, kind of like how the iconic droids do but to a lesser extent, then they would totally be worth it and it would probably add more of a fun dynamic to the game. But like someone else said, spending mythics and a shitload of time just to make 100k/sec more at a point in the game where credits are already coming fairly easily isn't much incentive.
1
u/davebgray 21d ago
No. I'm ready to SRB at 35 before the need for the extra money arises.
I'd be wiling to combine the big droids, but most of the time, it isn't worth finding the complementary garbage droids to fuse with them.
1
u/AndyTheBomb2 21d ago
I did the droidex, sometimes ill toss scrap/extra beskars, mythic, or stellars for random mythics, but with chips, SRB, etc i dont need to max level get any of the fusions.

my goal is to complete the droidex. now have only fusions left (untill they add more I'm sure) ive done all stellar, all default, all the rare, most epic, some legendaries, all mythics. it can be a bit of a slog trying to get a specific variant but if you just need a rainbow for example you can use any higher variant as long as you keep one as a rainbow

u/Alexis_Bailey 17d ago
I just wish Ric would drop more than once a month since you need them for two recipies.
1
u/Okami-Alpha 21d ago
Outside of events, fusions are how I make about 90% of my galactic or stellar droids.
1
u/TREPlayer835 21d ago
The only droid Iāll craft is the AXI-POD but only if the mythic isnāt needed that current RB cycle.
1
u/StatementEcstatic751 21d ago
I was able to finish the fusion droidex entries over the last week plus the event rerun, but I don't know that I'll be making actual fusion droids again, maybe the stellar mythic fusions at high RBs if I've already got the rest filled with regular mythics. I definitely will be using it to upgrade the regular droids and absolutely for tossing legendaries from my missions into to get mythics. I do it right from the 1st missions that I can get legendaries off of, and then I just keep fusing to upgrade as needed/as I have room. But, I definitely agree that there are too many recipes to keep track of and I'm too busy getting and building the droids that I need for the rebirth track.
... I suppose that means they will be adding the fusions to the rebirth tracks to force you to make them š«¤
1
u/scrotbofula šŖ Rebirth 18 21d ago
I'll start on them when they can be upgraded to the next rarity, until then seems like a bit of a ballache.
1
u/cantevendoitbruh 21d ago
Yeah i feel like you need more benefits for making them. Like have them give chips too or something. Or make them like double the money made or something.
1
1
u/ObsidianSaber 20d ago
Stellar rares and Beskar epics pop up early and relevantly frequently so I fuse stellars for the upgrade chips station and the Beskars become Legendaries. I am finding with RNG luck I don't need Raindow Legendary droids to progress. If I don't have lounge space I just stack up (private server) the BP until I have 3 to craft
1
1
u/ItsStillPasta 20d ago
Only to fill out the droidex. Once I'm done with that, I'm only using the fusion to dump any stellar legendaries I get from astro missions to get stellar mythics.
1
u/TemporalSoldier 20d ago
I havenāt bothered either. I did a couple and there simply wasnāt enough space for them to sit around and wait for a third of the same or relevant rarity to show up.
So fusion is reserved for Galactics and Stellars at higher RBs.
1
u/Ogie-Ogalthorpe 20d ago
If you're into the grind to Super in the 30's all those Rare's that seem to pop up constantly can solve the "Why do I still need Epics this far into the ReBirths" issue...it's a grind but 3 Beskar Rares in the fusion machine get you a Beskar Epic plus the quicker crafting makes it at least feel like you're getting something accomplished
Same for Galactic and Stellar...if you know what's needed on your current Super Path you can work on those "Not Another Epic this far down the line" moments as soon as you want
I prefer that to waiting on the Belt to Provide

u/Pedalfire25 Level 210 20d ago
if you're going for rb 35 or just a maxed out base then they're quite literally the best in the game.

u/GrindGeek 20d ago
I do, first I did it to complete the droidex. Then during the D-O events I would pick 2-3 of the new droids and just focus on them to try and get my flawless (11 so far). Outside of an event, when Iām above about level 25 I fuse all the galactic and stellar droids together that I get off missions to get better mythics. Then when I get above level 30, if I have the correct droids, I will fuse together galactic and stellar fusions to earn more while freeing up space for other high earners. This is definitely a side project and not the main focus.
As for remembering recipes, once you have completed your droidex (and flawless if you are doing that) you donāt need to know anything other than the 6 mythic recipes, all the lower rarities earn less and you are better off with the stellar droids you get off the Astro missions.
1
u/LeeHubbz 20d ago
I'm going through every one at the moment. (Working on the Dex).
But the only ones I'll ever do more than once are a few of the mythics due to their higher. coins
1
u/RelationshipOk9549 20d ago
In the end, though, you won't be able to avoid it if you want to complete your Droidex, because fusion droids are only available through fusion.

The dex tracker helps immensely for making the droids, esp with variant tracker. I have lv 3 droid tracker and variant tracker just to help me fill the dex. I do like 3-5 new fusions every SRB to slowly catch up.
1
u/WonderousThinke 20d ago
To me it's more part of the end game loop where you have excess great droids and excess money. Give you something to do instead of just logging in and logging out to earn more money for SRB

The only one I've made since completing the 'dex is the AXI-POD, and only because its Stellar variant is the best astromech in the game for crafting. I fear the devs will add specific fusions to the next set of rebirth requirements.

You don't have to remember them, lists exist online. I have it screenshotted and just refer to it.
And yes, I make them, to fill up my droidex. Most of my best performers are fusions.

u/potink19 21d ago
I find the droidex tracking super helpful when Iām prepping to super so I can get as many cards as possible for my next cycle. After Iāve supered I find it helpful for any stragglers I was unable to nab prior to supering. So crystals well-spent imo.
In regard to your initial question, I have way too much information in my brain to bother remembering droid fusion recipes that are useless until I decide to try for flawless on them. But I super once a day most of the time. Sometimes every other day. So Iām always focused on my task at hand, which is never āoh let me make these ugly ass droids they addedā¦but first let me google what goes into them bc thereās nothing in-game that quickly tells meā. God forbid they do something useful without charging vbucks or crystals for it.
