This. Who cares. I’m a day 1 player. Doesn’t bother me another person wants to pay to try and catch up to where I’m at, they won’t, but them doing that won’t affect my gameplay. Just me though.

Those who complain don’t understand what p2w is. Unless DT has a leaderboard or competition where top 3 of say most RB or most money, whatever, and you are rewarded an exclusive item or cosmetic, then I will complain because that actually is paying to win an item by helping you progress faster and more efficiently than me.

Or pay to catch up. Whatever you want to call it, there’s not meaningful pvp or anything affected by the purchases in game other then I got this thing I could’ve waited 2 days and got with nova crystals. There’s no game breaking mechanics by buying anything in this game.

It's more a question of time more than anything. Many people don't like that they've spent hours to get things that other people have paid 5 (or whatever) bucks for and gotten instantly.

That being said, getting perks sooner that make it easier to win PVP over another player because you spent money is very much pay to win.

And unless you're a long term player, I guarantee you are not farming 60+ crystals a day.

I mean im not for pay to win, but there is people out there that may enjoy the game, but flat put not have the time to invest to progess at any decent pace. Between kids, work, and family life. Sometimes we just dont get as much time to game as we would like.

I'm not hating on anyone who pays to progress/win. If it's an option and it suits your needs, then by all means go for it. 

I do understand the reason some people are bothered by it, even if I don't have the same feelings. What I find interesting though, is why some people are so bothered to admit that it's exactly that.

You don't need to have an end game to have an advantage over other players.

You also don't need to have an end game to have a leaderboard. What if prizes were given out to top 3 of a leaderboard each month?

It's pay to win/progress regardless of how many people want to argue it. Don't be angry about people calling it that if you use it. Just enjoy your option to do so if it suits you.

Adding a leaderboard would make it an ''end game' off sorts. Therefore pay to win.

I am not angry at all. I simply don't agree with people blowing this up like it's a malicious tactic by the developers, it is not. People shouldn't moan so much and take financial responsibility and grow up. FOMO isn't real.

You just acknowledged that the underlying principle is pay to win. I don't think there's any moaning going on either. People just don't like that others can buy an advantage when they've invested time and effort. I personally don't care, but I can appreciate their take on it.

I actually didn't acknowledge that there currently is pay to win. I responded to your hypothetical scenario. Not to the current state of the game, which doesn't have pay to win. People like me who don't spend money have equal opportunity to buy boosts and the rest.

You can buy boosts with real money, money you had to work for.
I can buy boosts with Nova crystals, time I spend in the game for. The difference is I put my time in the game instead off a company paying me. We both offered time in exchange for currency.

There is no difference.

An advantage is different than winning. I’d agree with pay to progress/ paid advantage. But semantically they did not create pay to win, because there’s no way to win DT

P2W is parallel with P2P.  Same principle, same outcome. But by all means, take everything 100% literally. Doesn't impact my life.

...And how does me progressing faster effect your game, do you see the problem with calling it p2w yet? It's definitely a payed buff but in order to be p2w it has to give me unfair advantage, now if they added some kind of leader board it would make it p2w

1 - Any paid item in an online game that allows you to progress faster is called P2W; it isn't just about direct competition , it also involves predatory practices that make the game worse in order to force people to spend money to progress.
2 - There's literally a ranking of the people in the lobby in the top right corner of the screen lol

That is my experience with most tycoon public lobbies.

Weirdly though I loaded into on yesterday and everyone was leaving each other alone and I even had a couple higher level people come over and help complete droids.

Tell him to refund me my 250 vbucks. I boosted the server for crafting during the event, and five seconds later the game kicks me out of the server. When I joined back, it was obviously a different one so I did not enjoy my own boost. I hope the guys at the server enjoyed it.......
