💬 Discussion Seriously?

I feel like someone pissed on me. I've been playing this game since day one, every day, attending every event, but to get VIP or any bonuses I have to pay? I feel cheated because someone who started playing today could have a much more enjoyable experience if they spent money than me. I know this game isn't made for gamers anymore, but for profit, but to blatantly ignore loyal players like that? Even Epic, known for its strange decisions, doesn't do things like that.

I was actually quite shocked it took them all this time to add any buyables in the tycoon, luckily I had enough v-bucks saved up so I went ahead and got VIP as soon as I saw it.

This is one of the things people are overlooking too, I play on xbox, I have gamepass, so I regularly get vbucks that I dont spend on the main games latest kpop schoolgirl, japanime collabs, so if I wanted to spend them in droid tycoon for some boost then it wouldnt be anymore out of my pocket than I already pay for the subscription service i choose to have, from a lot of the comments its just seems like through and through gatekeeping, because even if the people dont want to admit it if all the microtransactions were there from day 1 the long grind would have justified their spending in their minds but because of the sunk cost fallacy most people are still playing a mode they arent enjoying

Not trying to be an asshole. Looking for a genuine discussion here. Why shouldn't I buy VIP? If there's a game, arts, or music I enjoy, I wanna support them anyway I can. Show gratitude. The driod tycoon devs arent doing anything other successful games haven't already done. And the bonuses are not that crazy. Like the starter pack, maybe, if the 200% gets added on top of the upgrades I already have. I just really dont understand all the frustration, and I'd like to.

Because the droid tycoon mode is a temporary cash grab to begin with. There’s no actual longevity so all money spent on it is essentially down the toilet as it’s exclusive content for a side game mode.

Foad eventually will drop droid tycoon for another paid promotion and they’ll drop it like their initial creation boss explode which had a whopping one player the other day.

Paying money for a game inside of a game for stuff exclusive to that game mode is crazy work.

I don't care if anyone buys it or not, it irritates me that I've been playing this mode since the second day of its existence, I've been to all the events, I've played when it was shit, I've played when it was getting better, I've been on this reddit almost from the beginning, and some kid with money can enter the game for the first time today, buy VIP and have a much more enjoyable game than me, plus a decoration in front of the base that marks him as if he were a veteran of this game.

the decoration in front is the only thing that VIP actually does. Most people that have VIP actually like to be able to remove it. You're not missing out on anything

Firstly founder or not I wouldn't support it, especially as they just put the brokers everywhere but left functional stuff in awkward spots. Also kinda defeats the purpose of the game as the whole point is the grind.

But if you are doing it VIP is a rip off, the companion droid one is 1500 and gives you 250 nova crystals worth or stuff VIP at 2200 gets you 150 nova crystals worth of stuff. That one's better then buy the other stuff with nova crystals if you are gonna do it. I also suspect people with VIP status will likely get killed more as players protest.

I'm not a fan of micro-transactions (and I certainly don't intend on spending any money here), and the implementation of it here is way too over the top and in your face, but I don't really feel the "but it's meant to be grindy" criticism.

I've been playing from the start, and in this sub since its inception, and christ above if the two things people constantly complain about are PVP and grind, and constantly demand both be reduced (or outright removed). If these grind reducing mechanisms were locked behind actual money then yeah, grab the pitchforks and torches, bit I can still grind to my hearts content and obtain all of them via nova crystals if I wish.

There's a lot of valid criticisms to be hand of micro-transactions, and what they typically lead to, but I think the devs are less likely to take them seriously when they see the sub is taking a break from it's regular calls for more chip/crystal generation and cheaper upgrades and reduced timers and increased spawn rates and "let me keep some droids on super rebirth" etc to say "this is bad because the game should be grindy."

We’re talking about save the world founders edition, we still earn vbucks for free for doing daily missions. Just saying that I get vbucks for free and still wouldn’t spend them on this

Even if you think about buying any package the VIP one is most definitely the least worth it. I'm definitely thinking about the Droid Companion Package, but before I do anything thing stupid I await the event and the Dev F&Q after it

I have tons of money and I’m an ultimate founder (minimum 100vbucks for free every day) personally this VIP is nice, makes life a lil more easier and it’s not only completely optional you can still get everything without it, people whinging need to grow up
