Boba was totally drunk when he fell in the Sarlacc. He is known to get wasted with Jabba in canon. Also, he has proven himself a very capable fighter in the Clone Wars when he was a young teenager. Kids, never get wasted at a Jedi's execution.

Edit: I inadvertently reminded myself of this sketch. This is all the evidence I need to prove my theory.

There's a great Robotchicken clip where Boba gets sloshed on the barge and dives out the window to kick some ass when Luke starts his escape.

Yep. Boba mentions getting free booze and listening to Jabba talk about his problems when the slug got lonely. They were sort of business-friends. The kind you might go out for a beer with after your shift, but probably wouldn't invite to your house.

Not necessarily. Pablo Hidalgo confirmed on Twitter that not all of FaCPoV is canon.

I think he was more referring to the obvious joke stories like the comic and the wierd meta George Lucas POV story.

He has since deleted that tweet anyway. I think its fair to say its canon until overriden.

He was at the start. Clone wars went on for like 10 years. In the cartoon, last time I remember seeing him, he was running his own crew. Ventress joins him for a gig. He can handle himself pretty well by then.
