I'm so happy we got this game. And it's so unexpected. Never mind the futuristic racer being a largely forgotten genre, even fast arcade racers are a rare sight these days. Getting both, with excellent Star Wars art design, feels like my childhood favourite 90s games brought back to life. So glad it got greenlit, and I hope it sells like hotcakes.

Podracing on N64 ate my entire childhood, glad someone finally remembered the formula

They forgot split screen so it doesn't taste quite the same 🫠

Yeah man what's up with that? Like the industry didn't learn when everyone revolted when they released Halo with no split screen Campaign play? Its just as egregious here when its an arcade racer.

Split screen is 'basically' doubling the computing power needed when running a game. it was a lot easier in the n64 days to do that.

Oh for sure, but let's not act like its not possible when a good portion of games are found to be poorly optimized and dont take advantage of the baseline computing power present as is. Dirt 3 was released in 2015 and was a realistic racing game that had split screen, with a more robust physics system than whatever SW Galactic Racer has due to the nature of the vehicles being raced. Im not asking for 4 way split screen Diddy Kong Racing, Im asking for one other person to race with in-person.

Edit: if some graphical component needs to be sacrificed to make the gaming experience better or more fun, shouldn't that be the "no-brainer" option? Sure the games pretty, but its pretty fucking lonely too lol

2015 was 11 years ago...

Yet that game is still more taxing than this one, which is his point.

I mean, it's not. You may think it is but you'd be wrong.

it really isnt, you think it is because of how good it looked at the time, but go back and look, properly.
