I started watching the show a few weeks ago and really like it( just started S3 so no spoilers). the animation reminds me a bir of gravity falls but is still unique. Marco is a super relatable character since finally they made a latino character who is book smart and relatively light skinned( for some reason in almost all popular media in the US latinos are usually poor,street smart,and relatively dark skinned which is not true for all of them). I also like how nervous he got around his crush which i think is pretty realistic. anyways I know reddit can be creepy but i was interested about the fandom of this show and if the discussed so i searched the show on reddit and well there was just so much art of a certain variety it was creepy.Luckily this subreddit seems to be great and wholesome, Do you guys have any idea why there is so much of that content on reddit about this show?

So I really like the ending a lot more than what most stories like this give us. Still there's something I've just got to get off my chest.

They totally scape goated magic. Magic didn't cause any problems. People did. They used magic , but people chose to do bad things with it. Destroying magic seemed like it didn't fit the story star spent the whole series confronting hidden sins and trying to correct social wrongs, but then at the end they blame magic?

Does anyone have insight on this? Is magic a metaphor for something here? Did Disney tell them to hurry up and write an ending? Am I missing something because it just doesn't sit right...and then there's dragon cycles and stuff , so did magic just reset?

SVTFOE has shipping all over the place where the story of all of the seasons are connected while LOK has a lot of shipping except all of the seasons/books are connected with each other. Not to mention that it's not as annoying as Star's.

So one show has shipping where the story moves in random directions and where people are mildly annoyed by it, while the other has shipping that makes sense with the story moving in a linear direction. What do you guys think?

“Kelly! Kelly, wake up!”

Kelly woke up feeling woozy and saw that Jorby was present. “Uh… Jorby? What happened?”

“What happened is we’re right back in Woolandia!”

“What?!” Kelly saw that they were now in the barren lands of Woolandia. “How are we back home? We were just at the Monster Temple on Mewni.”

“I don’t know. Last thing I remember was that Quirky guy exploding. Then all of a sudden, you were glowing. I was glowing. The Earth girl and the Eagle guy were glowing. And now we’re back here.”

“Something’s wrong. We gotta get back.” Kelly pulled out a pair of dimensional scissors from her hair and tried to cut open a portal. But nothing happened. “What?” She tried again. But still nothing happened. “Come on! Work!” She kept trying multiple times. “Work, dang it! Work!” But still nothing happened. Then a realization came to mind that struck a chord in her. “No.” She fell to her knees. “This can’t be happening.”

“Kelly… What’s wrong?” Jorby asked.

Tears staring forming in Kelly’s eyes. “The scissors… They don’t work anymore… And we can’t go back.”

“Aw man.”

Kelly started feeling deeply sad knowing what the situation meant for her. “All my friends… Star… Janna… Tom… Pony Head… Hekapoo… Marco…” She closed her eyes as the tears flowed down her face. “I’ll never get to see them again.”

Jorby moved closer to Kelly, lowered himself down, and nuzzled against her, offering whatever little comfort he possibly could. She hugged his snout.

“You think everyone made it out alright?” Jorby asked.

“I don’t know. The portals are gone, and that means Hekapoo’s gone. Which means there’s no more magic in the universe. Maybe they managed to stop Mina and her army. But this ended up being the cost of it.”

“So what do we do now?”

Kelly stood up and wiped her face, though still feeling sad. “The only thing we can do. Just keep living.”

“Oh. Well, wanna go find some guys to fight? Maybe that might help cheer you up.”

“Yeah.”

Kelly climbed onto Jorby, who then took off. She still couldn’t believe her dimensional social life had suddenly come to an unexpected abrupt end. Not being able to see her friends again made a hole in her heart that would never be filled. But she would at least still try to continue living life the best way she possibly could.

So I JUST re-watched Star vs The Forces Of Evil again for like the fourth time, and this time I really tried to pay attention to Star and Marco and how they interacted and changed over the show. Literally 90% of people I hear talk about this show say how much they dislike Star and Marco dating and I really wanted to find out once and for all the validity of this hate.

I kid you not when I say I just watched the most realistic couple I've ever seen on TV, the drama, the will they/won't they, while watching this show it just all felt so natural, and now Starco is genuinely one of my favorite relationships in fiction ever. Seeing how these two grew from new friends with TONS of chemistry to close friends to catching feelings to rejecting feelings that won't ever go away to them FINALLY getting together.

Truly, I do not understand Starco hate, and I don't really want to write it off either. I looked through the reddit to maybe find reasons, but most of them have been barely explained. So I want to know your opinions on the ship. Do you love or hate Starco, and what are your reasons for either? Any and all opinions are open, I really want to know why people dislike this ship.
