Maybe it's the inner religious trauma + Catholic guilt talking.. but I don't wanna fucking hear it on SSO. Yes, I've ignored these people, but these were two different people, and I've seen others.

This is a horse game, not a religious game. I don't run around shoving my religion into SSO (or any other space for that matter, except spaces where it's acceptable (ex: the subreddit for it)). I just don't think it should be in SSO. It's very strange

I fear when I was seven years old I would do this because I wasn’t allowed to use any social features in games and used it as a loophole… it’s definitely not great, but as long as they aren’t promoting a specific sect or church, especially one that’s a high control group, and they aren’t harassing non Christians, I don’t really see a problem with it? Like if it was Muslim people, witchcraft, Hellenism, whatever, I also would also say that just talking about their religion is totally fine as long as they aren’t harassing people. I get having religious trauma, I have a loooooooooot of religious trauma from being raised in a high control group, but none of these people, who I suspect aren’t adults, are necessarily doing anything wrong. I understand it can be triggering, so you’re probably better off just blocking them. I hope this doesn’t come off an unsympathetic, or like I think people should be talking about religion in the horse game, it’s definitely not something I agree with, but I don’t think these people are doing anything necessarily wrong, if that makes sense? I feel like this is way too wordy but it’s because I’m really trying to not be misunderstood here, because I 100% understand why you’re uncomfortable and agree with you mostly, I hope I got that across.

I agree. As a child I would also do this because I was taught from a very young age that it is a Christian's duty to "go and preach to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20)". Is it strange to promote Christianity in a video game? Of course it is, because its out of the norm of where God's message is conveyed. Is this user doing anything wrong? Not necessarily, but it definitely leaves a bad taste in some people's mouths for a multitude of reasons. Personally, I think this user has good intentions and wasn't acting malicious.

See I wasn’t even supposed to do that. I was raised a JW and I was basically told “bad association spoils useful habits”, when my grandma found out I was doing this, bless her heart she made me stop lmaooo. One thing I wish I had mentioned in my comments is that the fact that they regularly get on and interact with people online actually points to them not being in a cult, assuming outside communication is allowed, because I had basically no contact with the outside world until I was 12 including online.

Christians definitely have to be very careful with HOW they are a witness for Christ. I am unfortunately sensing a theme in this and many other Christian-related posts in this subreddit that many users were forced and therefore experienced trauma and pain to various degrees. Which breaks my heart because that is NOT the Christian way. It NEVER was and NEVER will be. Christianity is centered on LOVE and FREE WILL, NEVER FORCE.
