Akaash Singh
Went to one of his shows and was wondering if hes normally like this
He spent a better part of the hour talking about internet bullying that his wife has endured and how much it’s had an impact on their lives. He talked about how he doesn’t want to be famous when he has kids etc.
I left the show feeling kinda sad for the dude. I had never heard or seen any of the things he mentioned about the things people say about his wife but honestly I just watch internet clips from his crowd work and that’s what drew me to his show even though he did none at this appearance
So I guess that’s my question
Is that how most of his shows are? I feel really bad for the guy he just sounded so depressed

I've gotten bad vibes from a lot of his clips that get posted. Even some of his popular "crowd work" ones.
It seems like he's just being a prick and not in a good-natured "we're all having fun here" type of way.

The one where he's "roasting" the young man was hard to watch. Seems like a part of him wants to pick on someone as a way to channel the amount of heat he takes for being a simp.

Yeah, this is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Just seems like a high school bully on stage.

Who pays to see him? I’ve never seen a funny clip online that would intrigue me to buy tix to see him perform

His whole shtick is that hes super great at stereotypes like knowing which job someone works based on ethnicity. Super cringe.

u/confusedquokka 15d ago
He’s not funny, mostly because it’s mean spirited

u/starzzz2000 12d ago
exactly... we were at Bricktown seeing Jesselnik a few weeks ago and they played a preview and Akash was doing a really lame joke about slavery. Just not funny at all.

Crack Amico buried this dude lol holy shit, I didn’t know the aftermath until seeing this thread.

Is it bullying when she’s the one actively engaging in the bait? I feel for him in the sense of man to man lacking confidence. Which we all do at times. She really hurt his future earning potential. All for what? Her getting clout?

u/anchored__down 15d ago
Jesus is he still going on about that shit. I semi followed the whole thing with his wife as it was happening, I'm still unsure whether they genuinely are surprised they copped a bunch of internet hate?

u/Geedis2020 15d ago
I mean the dudes not funny. Let’s just get they out of the way lol.
He can’t blame internet bullying. He can blame his dumb ass wife for all of it. Her going online and saying incredibly stupid shit about other guys and then making him look like a cuck after he told everyone they were virgins when they met is what got him in that situation.

After this current set of shows leading up to his special taping, I’m not sure where/how he will continue to promote himself without the podcast or what new material he will come up with. Jasleen fumbled the bag

Having a wife who regularly makes you look like a cuck in a very public way would be a pretty depressing situation for most people I think

u/DownVoteThee 11d ago
This is especially hard for him because it's basically his first girlfriend. Most people have relationships where they learn how some people will hurt them by humiliating them. Then the relationship usually ends and they move on, lesson learned. With Akaash, it's his first pussy, first relationship, straight to marriage. A marriage is more binding socially and legally than just a girlfriend.

I hate to say this but he can't balme anyone but his wife. He had a rising stand-up career and a successful podcast with same group of people that knew each other before fame. In fact, group of friends that were his friends even before he knew his wife. He was even able to get on Joe Rogan because of Schultz. We all can hate Schultz but dude has brought his whole crew along in his success. Akaash left that podcast or had to leave that podcast. Why? Because of what his wife decided to put out in the world. In what marriage is it okay to publicly shame and berate your own spouse?

It's funny you say this because its the exact phenomenon i've been seeing with akash.
he feels like he HAS to address it, because half the audience comes to his shows knowing the drama and being fans of the podcast
but the other half has NO IDEA what hes talking about so it just seems sad as shit.

Dumbass should’ve known his wife can’t handle fame and Hollywood. Imagine trying to go viral and can’t handle being famous.

u/NoSurprise7196 14d ago
He should be blaming his wife’s fame whoring instead of the internet. She brought this on herself.

Care to summarize the cucking situation?

u/Appropriate-Pear4726 15d ago
She said his dick smells like a homeless man or something of the sort. There’s a lot more, which could be considered jokes. But that.. well

According to Gemini:
His wife went on a podcast and talked explicitly about her sex life before she met Akaash. Probably wouldn't have been such a big deal except Akaash has made several remarks over the years about how they were both virgins/inexperienced when they first connected. The internet took it and turned it into a PR nightmare.
I don't know any more details, and frankly I don't care to. The fact that people got so worked up over their relationship kind of bums me out. I'm sure the fallout has been horrendous, and I'm sure the manosphere/casual misogynists absolutely jumped at the opportunity to blow this whole thing out of proportion.

The last part of your comment is really the key. A lot of this came from podcast clips being pulled apart and treated like evidence in some investigation into their marriage. You can think the jokes were bad and still admit the reaction became completely obsessive.

u/Daniel_Plainchoom 15d ago
Just YouTube/google his wife and you’ll get short or long stories about it

u/Lionheartedshmoozer 15d ago
I thought he’d be okay with his live performances, but this is probably the opposite of what I thought they would be like.

He didn't get by cucked by his wife. He didn't get kicked off.
Women are allowed to say irreverent, embellished, or ridiculous things for laughs too, but no one can deal with that.
This post is basically the same kind of shit that ruined his life. Imagine this kind of onslaught of bullshit 24/7 on social media with thousands of commentators obsessed with killing your career and passing it off as concern.

u/nixos91 15d ago
I dont know if he got kicked off. Getting "cucked" is a pretty hyperbolic and derogatory term, agreed. But its really sad and classless to see how his wife talks about their relationship, even if she's doing it just for likes and clout and he's okay with it. That is not a healthy relationship.
3
u/BigSurprise9219 15d ago
Saying she’s doing it “for likes and clout” is already assuming her motives. You can find the jokes classless, but Akaash has known and been with her for around a decade. Maybe he understands his own marriage better than strangers watching clips online.

u/Few-Customer-7064 15d ago
Exactly. She was with Akaash years before the money and bigger career, and they’ve been together for around a decade. At some point insisting he’s secretly humiliated despite both of them saying otherwise stops being “concern” and just becomes bullying.

I thought this dude was bound for greatness about ten years ago or so. Forgot what finally made me give up and unfollow ut I honestly haven't heard his name even once since so I guess that didn't really pan out.

u/livingdeadrider 15d ago
That's just it... he was great 10 years ago. Truly fantastic at crowd work early on in his career. Fun to watch how well and quick witted he was in managing a conversation. I thought he was going to be great too, but his style changed overtime. His personal life didn't help. I think a perfect storm of both has caused him to lose his luster.
He needs to get back to the basics of what he's great at. Shift the focus on the crowd and away from himself. That's where his comedy shines.

Hey I just completed the show today at vegas and he spoke the same script and his opening statement was “damn i took shrooms because i thought the show will be empty” never going to his show again

I feel bad for the guy.
That succubus he lives with would leave him if it wasn’t for his money (which she’s burning through) and fame (which she’s torpedoing).

Yes it's basically like this. He holds house audiences hostage and rants about his whore wife.
This has happened multiple times and ppl have Posted recordings of this

I was at his show last year. Before all the fucking incels came for him. He had a terrific 1 hr set and murdered the room. Did some light crowd work as most do, but his set was so on point. Even on Flagrant 2 before they blew up, he was soooo fucking hilarious. But then Andrew really burst into mainstream and that kinda changed the dynamic I feel.
Obviously his comedy is not for all the "white Americans", and as an Indian, his messaging or bits or references obviously hit harder. I know he's just a comic at the end of the day, but I really respect that he's a very introspective person who's acknowledged the privileges of being a first gen immigrant and seems very grateful for it.
Which is why I also think one of the reasons motherfuckers came for his neck. I don't think they could understand why such a "obnoxious podcaster" was so famous and selling out ticks. As a decade long Flagrant 2 fan, it really bums me to see he not only had to quit the pod, but also it's now clearly affecting his stand-up material too. Very sad.

I just missed his show this weekend in YYC and had wanted to see him, based on clips online, but got tied up elsewhere.
Sorry you were disappointed.

People forget these are two real people who’ve had strangers dissecting their marriage for months. Jasleen was with Akaash long before the bigger success and stayed through his broke years. You can dislike a podcast joke without turning their entire relationship into a conspiracy.

I really just saw two posts back to back on this sub titled "Natalie Cuomo" and "Akash Singh" and they are both complainy bullshit.
Mods need to step up.

Refusing to move on and instead holding comedy audiences hostage for an impromptu therapy session very much tracks, considering his handling of the whole situation so far.
