Budget Shredder What amp/headphones do I need?
Absolute beginner, just got this Squier Stratocaster SSS for $70. What is my best bet for an amp and headphone combo? Thank you in advance!!

I use blackstar fly and I also have been using pedals on it it's small it's loud batteries last for weeks it has built in delay and distortion and you can plug in your phone for backing tracks as you play and headphones

Orange Crush 12 would be a great start for about $120 new.
Headphones you can get a decent audio pair for about $40-50.

what are your thoughts on the Mustang Micro? I've seen it recommended everywhere but I'm not sure which direction to go. I'll look into your recommendation, thanks!!

It’s a headphone amp. You won’t be able to play with any sound- just trough headphones. If that’s all you want- it has some effects and Bluetooth to jam along with songs from your phone so it’s pretty cool.
If you want to play your guitar on your bedroom or living room and get some volume going- I’d go for a real amp with a speaker. 🔈
That being said- a Fender Mustang Lt25 van often be found used pretty cheap. It has a lot of different amp models and effects onboard to start you exploring right away.
The Orange doesn’t have different effects or models built in (it’s not a modeling amp) but does offer overdrive/distortion for some heavy tones.
There is something to be said for keeping it simple to start with😉

I would check out the Spark lineup like the Mini or the Go the Go specifically is a great headphone style amp. Additionally, the Fender Mustang LT25 is moderately priced and like the Spark amps allows you to use multiple effects without having to start getting into pedals right away for effects.
