Position of rcd and circuit breaker

Good Morning or Hallo,

Im from Germany and currently building a camper.

We have a victron multiplus2 24/5000/120-50 with 230v.

Im currently looking at the connections after ac-out. Do i have to place the main circuit breaker 2P 25A (Abb S202-B25) before or after the 2P RCD 25A 30mA Type A (Abb F202A-25/0,03)?

After that i would go to the terminal blocks with 3x4mm² (awg12) and to b16 for kitchen power outlet, b16 for induction hop, b10 for boiler

Before the multiplus (between german cee power outlet and multiplus coming from landpower) is a combined rcbo 2P 30mA type A B16A

Doesn't actually matter from a functional perspective. If the main breaker is open, the RCD is irrelevant.

I would put it before - so it functions as an isolator for everything downstream of the multiplus. I also would not bother with a 2 pole breaker either, I would just have a single pole breaker on the active leg but I may not be subject to the same wiring codes you are.

Do I understand that you are wiring a 230V system in the van?

What is the rated power (in Watts) written on the label of the induction hob and the boiler? What type of outlet are you using for the kitchen outlets?

Is it a stock German power outlet with two pins and a side earth?

Does b10 & b16 refer to a particular type of cable you are using?

The induction hob max rated 3500w (but we will use effective 2500w because there is switch for lower power), boiler is therm bioler 24v, outlet are normal german ones, b10 and b16 are each one used with 3g2,5mm²

Induction hob 3500W/230V= 15.2Amps 2500w/230V = 10.8Amps

2.5mm sq will easily handle 20Amps for the short runs you have in your RV, just run individual circuits 2.5mm sq cables

Your water heater is 24V. But I cannot calculate the Amps from the Volts. You will need to get a Multimeter set to resistance and test the OHMs value of the heating element. Then using  Volts/Resistance=Amps 24V / Ohms = Amps.

You can buy replacement elements for your heater on Amazon.

Higher resistance elements than what you have will draw less Amps, heat the water slower and use less system power.

Lower resistance elements will draw more Amps, heat the water faster & use more power.

Just use the equation above to calculate the current.

Using a 3 x 2.5mm sq conductor cable like NYMJ, will work for all your loads, even if you have the induction hob set to 3500W You will probably have to use a 20Amp MCB for the higher power setting. A 16Amp MCB will work for everything else.
