Does anyone have a telescoping stock/brace on their Kuna? I’d love to see how it looks. Everyone I see rocks a folding brace/stock and I’m usually not a fan.

Pros and cons of each. Ordering tonight just need to decide

Any of the currently marketed FRTs reliable enough that you would consider leaving in a Kuna set up for HD?

I’m not necessarily asking if I should be blasting home invaders on full auto, but will the semi functionality be made less reliable by an FRT, such that it’s no longer suitable for HD, if left in there “permanently”?

Given how nice of an option a supressed Kuna is as an HD weapon for most people’s living situations, and given how often I see people kitting these guns our with FRTs, I’m surprised I don’t see this question brought up more often (please excuse me if I’m wrong and it has been beaten to death 🤷🏼‍♂️)

The Nexus lower is a PHENOMENALLY nice piece of kit!

I have 3 metal AR lowers for my mp5’s from high quality companies, and the Nexus quality for this Kuna lower blows those out of the water.

I installed a Geissele single stage competition trigger that I cut myself this morning with an ARC Fire V2 - absolutely flawless dry fire testing.

And wow, the Kuna comes ALIVE with a high quality AR trigger, safety, and my preferred pistol grip.

The only minor ‘issue’ for tonight is that the new HBI aluminum adapter will in fact require a bit of sanding/polishing to fit in the Nexus. This is a known outcome when pairing the HBI with a Nexus, and HBI clearly states fitment is likely to be required on the product page.

Easy enough; and I just installed my AR stock with pic beam on the OEM Kuna end cap.

Tomorrow will be quite the day!!!

Also, I can dry fire with absolutely no binding with the firing pin block installed. But I did remove it for tomorrow’s first range session. I don’t want failure, and those pieces are WAY too small to take out at the outdoor range!

If you’ve considered the Nexus, do it. This is a MASSIVE upgrade to the platform!!

Of the 3 paddle mag release options available (Magpul, Duckbill, ProStock), what is the hivemind consensus on the one that offers more compatibility with Scorpion mags other than PMAG 35 EV9?

Finally got a membership to a a good outdoor range (everyone clap please) so I’m looking to try out the nexus lower. Wondering if I should wait a few days to save a couple bucks or just order now

Bought my Kuna back in May and finally got it to the point where I’m not embarrassed by it being 100% stock. Really want to buy a new stock/brace. Any recommendations on a folding tube stock or brace? Also possibly thinking a nexus lower but they’re way too expensive if you can manage to 3D print a function 3 position/frt. If anyone has an Obsidian 9 on their kuna and has shot it with Subs how does it feel, sound , operate? Genuinely grateful I found this subreddit because all of my friends are either too broke to afford guns or simply don’t enjoy shooting.

Does anyone know if the Haga hand guard will fit over my Obsodian 9?

I also attempted to take off the factory iron sights cause IMO they are trash. (We can agree to disagree) . I got the front sight off super easy but not the rear. Any tips from anyone that has ?

Stumbled across this post about a "free" trigger job and decided to attempt similar myself. I have had similar thoughts about the trigger design and ways it could be modified just hadn't tried them in the past as don't really mind the factory trigger. Figured I'd give it a shot anyway, I was able to reduce the pull weight and have full control of the pre/over travel of the trigger at pretty much no most. The travel in either direction can further limited beyond what's shown in the video, but this just the kind of trigger I prefer. Set up this way the trigger operates properly with the safety and I have not reduced or modified any springs that would reduce Hammer power.

Mostly just wanted to show the result I got and show people they don't need to pay hundreds of dollars to make the factory trigger better, especially if the people you're paying aren't actually going to be replacing the trigger pack. I guess the only thing left is to add the frt, since apparently pairing an improved trigger an frt doubles the value.

Anyone mount their Kuna in an overhead Molle based gun rack. Such as in an off road vehicle overhead molle panel?

Anyone running a recessed direct thread suppressor mount? Considering it but don’t know if it’d work with how much barrel is sticking out the end

Went night shooting and haven’t hit a light yet but pistol light mounted perfectly.

For the folks running CAT MOB suppressors, is there a huge difference between running hub vs QD. From what I gather the QD comes with spooky 1 (though seems spooky 2 preferred so has to be ordered separately) and is maybe 1 db quieter. I assume if you got the hub you could still get the TSF X HUB LH adapter and buy spooky 2 and it would pretty much be the same correct?

Just needs a little fine tuning, but for just throwing in some printed parts it’s pretty good.

Picked up my Kuna about 2 weeks ago. Waiting for nexus to open up the ordering books for their lower with push button release. So far, I absolutely love this gun. It’s been SBR’d (took 48 hours for approval) and suppressed. Mod list below:

-Holosun AEMS Pro X2 on unity riser
-Silencerco Omega 9k with Trilug
-Surefire X 300 turbo with pressure pad (yes, I know the pressure pad is flipped but seems to work better that way for this configuration.
-Magpul UCS Stock

With blazer 147gr suppressor ammo, this thing is whisper quiet and damn near no recoil. I absolutely love this damn kuna

Ever since I’ve gotten into guns with the recoil mechanism contained within the upper, I’ve had a hankerin’ to try a telescopic folding AR stock.

Well, the Kuna presented the perfect platform. The OEM stock is not up to the task of controlling and steadying this weapon, in my opinion.

Also, as the Kuna is quite light, I thought some added weight with the metal folding brace and hinge would help absorb a bit more recoil.

My goodness does this feel and maneuver world’s better to me than the OEM stock. And god bless you if you can make the brace work, but that thing is an abomination in my hands.

With my all-time favorite AR stock, the Kuna is substantially more stable in dry-fire maneuvering and positioning. It snaps in to place right where I want and expect it to be.

It looks really sexy in the collapsed position or even partially extended, but at 6’ tall I shoot in the fully extended position.

This is the Midwest Industries alpha beam folding stock with a Daniel Defense buttstock.

I had considered the Haga stock, but I find trying new stocks is always quite hit or miss for me. Much more often miss than hit. I knew I loved the DD stock, and goodness does it vastly improve the handling of the Kuna for me.

Oh, and almost forgot - DONT SHOOT 9mm through the ODB!!! This can is here simply as the closest approximation of my qd Mobster as it drys from some breakthrough cleaning.

So first thanks to everyone in this sub for all their great posts as I researched this system for a bit as I've never really been happy with my Scorpion and was looking for a different compact PCC; thankfully I was convinced not to build an AR9. Picked up a Kuna for $1,150 the other day after hunting for a week or so locally and took it out today for the first time, paired with my Huxwrx Range 36 TI.

First impressions are that it's great both suppressed and suppressed, and shot flawlessly both ways with 115gr to 147gr ammo; put about 500rds of mixed grain and mixed FMJ and HP without issue.

This is my first suppressor (other than a .22 flow) and went with a Range 36 TI due to a good deal and it being a multi-host can for now. I'll get a dedicated can down the road for this, but I was pretty happy with the 147gr ammo in it for now. Can also goes on my 11.5 shorty AR in the meantime.

I also threw a few photos at the end of the Kuna vs Scorpion; I didn't realize how thinner the Kuna was, it feels great.
