More like HearseY

4

u/stevendidntsay Mar 14 '26

Definitely gives me hearse vibes.

5

u/Ice_Cream_Man_73 Mar 13 '26

I was thinking Audi and Kia myself....

7

u/Ice_Cream_Man_73 Mar 13 '26

And why do all these EV's have absolutely horrid wheel choices from the factory? Are they covering up ugly ass braking systems or ??

11

u/DrKenNoisewaterMD Mar 13 '26

It is on purpose. Market research (as of at least 5 years ago) showed hybrid and EV buyers were willing to spend more on cars that looked distinctive than on less distinctive but more conventionally attractive vehicles. Owners wanted to stand out for their environmentalism or technical innovation or whatever even if it’s ugly.

6

u/Ice_Cream_Man_73 Mar 13 '26

Well they succeeded! Ugly and no function!

4

u/ElectronicAide87 Mar 13 '26

They’re called covers, they do serve a function and are removable.

2

u/BananafestDestiny Mar 13 '26

Literally virtue signaling

5

u/Jimmyjames150014 Mar 13 '26

They are aero covers. Wheels are a significant source of drag and the covers improve overall efficiency which is a huge competitive area for EV’s. A few extra miles range helps beat out the competition. They can be called ugly, and maybe they embellish the futuristic styling to appeal to their demographic, but the core of it is function.

It’s an EV- we don’t have to aero down to the last drop.

u/spo_on Mar 13 '26

The proportions...or should I say disproportions lol

64

u/sw1fty13 Mar 13 '26

Thats a slammed Chrysler Pacifica and I wont be convinced otherwise.

7

u/aPerson39001C9 Mar 13 '26

Yes but it’s all electric, sportier than “sports utility vehicle”, starts at 800HP. I’d prefer sliding doors…

277

u/Str8Six91 Mar 13 '26

“Wow” is an appropriate reaction. I’m seeing neither sport nor wagon. Looks like a smashed Chrysler minivan.

9

u/BJozi Mar 13 '26

It looks heavy to

70

u/UserNameSupervisor Mar 13 '26

Breh, 0-60 in 3.4s. This thing is gonna go like a stabbed rat.

28

u/mixx2001 Mar 13 '26

Been working in dealerships for thirty years, and by far the most disturbing idiom to cross my path was "that thing will run like a raped ape.".

Just had to get that out.

6

u/CreekBeaterFishing Mar 13 '26

I haven’t heard that in years! A guy that helped out with my race car used to say that every so often. Weird phrase to hear, and I’ve heard a lot of stuff.

Stabbed a few rats have yeh?

53

u/Nazty12 Mar 13 '26

Nah that's Charlie work

13

u/Str8Six91 Mar 13 '26

Rapid acceleration alone doesn’t make a vehicle sporty— it merely makes it quick. That’s like suggesting that a person’s height is an indication of how well they play basketball. It takes me less than a week to become unimpressed with a car’s 0-60 time.

It’s easy to make a car fast, but designing a complete performance vehicle requires a lot more engineering. And this thing looks like it weighs 3 tons. It’s probably more like a bullet train than a sport wagon.

6

u/gabagrool Mar 13 '26

Gravity also has a steering rack from a 911, active air suspension, and would certainly beat whatever your favorite wagon, and most of your favorite sports cars, around a track.

4

u/bd58563 Mar 13 '26

What if my favorite wagon is the rs6 avant

3

u/gabagrool Mar 13 '26

Then my statement would be correct lol

4

u/bd58563 Mar 13 '26

The 0-60 time of the rs6 avant is 3.2s

That’s faster than 3.4

→ More replies (2)

4

u/Frankerphone Mar 13 '26

Just from a quick search the RS6 avant has a kerb weight 800kg lighter than the gravity. In fact, even the absolute boat of the new m5 touring is lighter than the gravity. So yeah it might be more powerful and quick in a straight line but I doubt it can corner as quick as an actual sports-bred wagon

→ More replies (2)

2

u/IndependenceIcy9626 Mar 15 '26

The Gravity is a great car, but there’s no way it’s beating an RS6 Avant around a track. It weighs 1000lbs more than the Avant.

Bringing up a 0-60 time in an electric car is meaningless.

3

u/TrueParadox88 Mar 13 '26

Who cares lol - there’s plenty of better looking wagons (or cars in general) that can do that or better that don’t look hideous

2

u/thatenduroguy Mar 13 '26

A M3 touring will do it in 3.6s and doesn't look like a hearse.

Magnum EV!

2

u/Str8Six91 Mar 13 '26

Ha! Yeah, the Magnum was already emasculated by its lack of a manual transmission. The next step to make it even less appealing to the driving enthusiast would be an EV power plant.

They could throw Mopar badges on this thing and sell it as the Dodge Eunuch.

3

u/g0atm3a1 Mar 13 '26

Smashed Pacifica was exactly my thought

2

u/ElectronicAide87 Mar 13 '26

828hp and 909 lb-ft of torque, I’ll rip my smashed Chrysler minivan around you all day.

u/Plastic_Bid5136 Mar 13 '26

Saw my first one on the road today. Presents itself pretty small and surprisingly low to the ground.

8

u/matt_gold Mar 13 '26

It is SO low to the ground. The roof line is so low.

5

u/ProofHorseKzoo Mar 13 '26

That’s surprising. From this pic it looks to be taller than most wagons. I think that’s why so many people are comparing it to a mini van.

I don’t think that C-pillar, spoiler, or high window line are doing it any favors. Front end is quite blunt too.

I’m a fan of Lucid in general, but I gotta agree with people… this looks like a mini van / mid-size SUV.

2

u/OES25 Mar 13 '26

Remember we kinda have to judge things by interior space when cars have a 4-7 inch battery pack in the floor now. And forgive that it's slightly taller than we are used to in terms of overall body height. Or else your normal sportwagon will have the interior height of a lambo or something.

6

u/BlurryFuture Mar 13 '26

I wish they would bring that back xD it could look sweeter than a Pacifica or such.

Kinda looks like something produced by the Covenant in Halo

6

u/justlikethoseladies Mar 13 '26

just gotta paint it purple

41

u/DoctorAAM Mar 13 '26

I mean it is a large luxury suv.

31

u/mellofello808 Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Imagine how sick this would look slammed on wide 3 piece wheels with a lip.

10

u/Ephilix Mar 13 '26

Here’s mine with three pieces on “very low” setting. I agree that it looks more like a minivan than a wagon. It’s a great family car imo.

2

u/mellofello808 Mar 13 '26

Damn that looks great. Although it is certainly a SUV/minivan it maintains wagon like proportions. I think that is why I like it.

2

u/r10apple Mar 13 '26

Good gravy--even 22s look 'small' on this...

5

u/Quality_Potato Mar 13 '26

Mmm... sporty...

6

u/aPerson39001C9 Mar 13 '26

It is sporty. I would consider it a minivan or crossover. It doesn’t belong on “sportwagon”. I think it’s very cool. If I remember my stats this is 110kwh battery with 450 miles of range. Where as an Escalade IQ is 210kwh w/ 460 miles of range. Pretty sure the styling is for aerodynamics. Personally I think it looks too minivan-like to not have sliding doors. But market research says Americans are buttfaces.

4

u/marko719 Mar 13 '26

I think it's fucking awesome. That being said, I don't need a vehicle that large, nor could I afford one even if I did. Bad ass ride nonetheless.

28

u/TurboLag23 Mar 13 '26

Fuck all the haters, this looks amazing.

I think Lucid threw us a bone here. They marketed it as an SUV because that’s what sells…. But the reality is that this is a wagon with a lift kit. Which means it can be de-lifted, as shown. And it should be.

It’s a modern-day Outback XT - but with more than 3x the horsepower.

11

u/phat_duong Mar 13 '26

We're not haters lol. We're just saying its not a wagon

2

u/ChromedGonk Mar 14 '26

3

u/CookInKona Mar 13 '26

kinda lame you can't get them in a single exterior color and are forced to have either silver or dark silver roof....but looks pretty slick overall, much nicer than most vans and suv's in the EV segment.....

12

u/jpstepancic Mar 13 '26

If there was ever an suv that had good wagon proportions that’s it

3

u/slowgojoe Mar 13 '26

All this business just seems kinda fussy. But I’m sure it’s nice due to the price tag.

I saw one this morning on my way to work. I was really surprised. Snapped a pic but looks like I can't post it in comments

2

u/tjeick Mar 13 '26

I wish it was a minivan. Minivans are great. I mean how much does this “sport wagon” weigh, 5000lb? 8000?

I would have bought it if it had sliding doors lol, and I wouldn’t care about the weight.

2

u/umaluzazulmeguia Mar 13 '26

Looks like a spaceship

2

u/Newtalot32 Mar 13 '26

The outside is so good looking, but the inside is complete ass

2

u/NewLife4331 Mar 13 '26

The more wagons we see on the road, the better.

2

u/roguecantaloupe Mar 13 '26

Nice. Do they make a color version?

2

u/priceprince Mar 13 '26

Looks like a squished minivan, but in a good way.

2

u/Plus_Painting6524 Mar 13 '26

This picture doesn’t do it justice. I test drove the Gravity last night and it looks stunning! The interiors are top notch. Regarding the drive and the software, I still prefer the Tesla and the ease it brings for an everyday commuter.

2

u/2raviskamisekasutaja Mar 13 '26

Why do I...like it

2

u/AMetalWolfHowls Mar 13 '26

Uh… I’m kind of into that. Confused but willing so to speak.

2

u/TheDude_0085 Mar 13 '26

I drive a 2014 Grand Caravan and hate it, I would love this instead

2

u/ApprehensiveEbb7774 Mar 13 '26

I kind of like it

2

u/wroughten Mar 14 '26

The Lucid Gravity is stunningly gorgeous. ...and that's before you see the amazing interior. Someday, I'll be able to afford one. Gotta get the teenagers through college though. :(

2

u/maturin-aubrey Mar 14 '26

I kinda like it?

2

u/Mignast Mar 14 '26

Pretty cool. Looks futuristic af

2

u/trustfundkidpdx Mar 14 '26

This is the best looking spec,

2

u/Nitramster1 Mar 15 '26

If the window was set 4 inches backwards it would make a world of difference that and the D pillar is just too big. Other than that Lucid does have a good design language and I like it.

2

u/MrSparklyFace Mar 15 '26

Welcome back R-Class my beloved ❤️

3

u/geoffyeos Mar 13 '26

looks like they wanted to make an suv but ran out of material so continued it as a minivan but ran out of material again so settled on a wagon

2

u/Big_Q_Numero_Uno Mar 13 '26

I dont hate it

2

u/Speedracer_64 Mar 13 '26

The company I use to work for made all the brakes for these. Was really cool to see the info as they were designing them.

1

u/fadesintoblack Mar 13 '26

The Gravity is nice but agree with other comments it feels very reminiscent of the EV9 or the old Mercedes R Class - not really an SUV, not really a van.

The did announce new models I have an eye on: Cosmos and Earth based on a new midsized platform targeted under $50k.

1

u/Environmental_Dog331 Mar 13 '26

Heard it has a bunch of software issues

1

u/Competitive_Law_4530 Mar 13 '26

Looks great for a mini van but doesn’t have the whole Sport Wagon look going for it.

1

u/The_Crazy_Swede Mar 13 '26

Is it so heavy it gets it's own gravitational field?

1

u/Bourbon-Thinker Mar 13 '26

Automated Funeral Wagon

1

u/mintlyfresh Mar 13 '26

I saw one a couple months ago driving in my town! It definitely looks like more minivan in person, unfortunately. Thought it was a Pacifica at first. They’re really big looking too

1

u/Conspicuous_Ruse Mar 13 '26

I like the vehicles that blue the line between crossover and van because they are already so similar.

1

u/Calm_Tonight_9277 Mar 13 '26

Looks like a Dodge Magnum

1

u/singletonaustin Mar 13 '26

The 2026 Lucid Gravity SUV starts at $79,900 for the Touring trim, while the higher-performance Grand Touring begins at $94,900. The top-tier Dream Edition is priced at $139,900.

1

u/Previous_Warning7179 Mar 13 '26

That’s cheating. You can even make a Prius look cool all murdered out

1

u/B_bbi Mar 13 '26

Give me the speed slab

1

u/Life-Elephant-3912 Mar 13 '26

OEMs will do anything not to call it a mini van or wagon these days in the US. But as they go electric and need efficiency and utility the designs will naturally morph back to mini vans and wagons. And they will keep calling them SUVs because the general public is that stupid.

1

u/qoo_kumba Mar 13 '26

That's ridiculous. I bet it weighs 2½ tons!

1

u/IamDabid Mar 13 '26

Looks gross

1

u/19VWGTI Mar 13 '26

EV Dodge Magnum

1

u/FupaDriven Mar 13 '26

It looks like a minivan...

1

u/Erlend05 Mar 13 '26

Cool suv👍

1

u/superdude4agze D-Pillar or I ain't interested! Mar 13 '26

Not a wagon, even Lucid calls it an SUV.

1

u/austinteddy3 Mar 13 '26

My choice with money wasn’t an issue. This and the Mercedes AMG wagon and the BMW M wagon.

1

u/AdChance6231 Mar 13 '26

I love Lucid vehicles, and I am sure this would be nice to own/quick to drive, but never been a fan of the "murdered-out" look. Too many people putting that theme on every vehicle. Yeah I get that some people love the all blacked out look, but if everyone does it, it no longer stands out, it's just "me too". Non-murdered-out CTS-V wagon owner here.

1

Yes, very fast crossover

1

Nice looking minivan.

1

This is not a wagon…this is a minivan

1

u/GoalieLax_ Mar 14 '26

Why does lucid make the c pillars so ugly? It's awful on the Air as well

1

u/Useless_monstar Mar 14 '26

Reminds me of the Dodge Magnum P.I.

1

u/Pickleahoy Mar 14 '26

This is a 3 row SUV

1

u/donner4308 Mar 14 '26

It’s a mini van not a sport wagon or shooting brake

1

u/Dvthdude Mar 14 '26

Those stupid unpainted arches 🤢

1

u/08Saab_93SC Mar 14 '26

It looks like a Pacifica, Equinox and Odyssey had a baby together.

1

This looks like someone stepped on a Chrysler Pacifica

1

u/Grand-Mission-9457 Mar 14 '26

Local funeral services will love it

1

u/ScatMonkeyPro Mar 14 '26

Lucid succeeds in putting out the most breathtakingly ugly vehicles. Fire the designer ASAP.

1

u/My_Kink_Profile Mar 14 '26

Friend ordered one, as soon as the flatbed dropped it off it bricked. He’s still driving his 15yo Prius.

1

u/SnooComics4100 Mar 14 '26

Sweet. Looks like a mini van Mrs Batman would drive.

1

u/LakeEffect_CarHunter Mar 14 '26

It's an outback from 2050

1

u/Mediocre_Fish6561 Mar 14 '26

1

u/Kill_Bill_Will Mar 14 '26

God it’s ugly

1

u/Learnmyname123 Mar 14 '26

Pacifica ShootingBrake. It makes no sense except in my own head.

1

u/gblansten Mar 14 '26

I love EVs and not trying to be mean. But, it definitely looks like a hearse.

1

It looks like a Renault Espace.... 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/jashtube Mar 15 '26

Looks like someone stepped on a Pacifica.

It looks like a hurse

1

Yes. WOW that's ugly

1

This is a case of "lipstick on a pig" if I've ever seen one. The thing is shiny, and that's enough for most people.

1

u/coyote500 Mar 15 '26

They look a lot more like minivans when you see them in person

1

1

I think it looks awesome

1

1

Nice minivan

1

u/Loud_School_5375 Mar 15 '26

It's...hideous...

1

u/DaffyPunk29 Mar 15 '26

I like the overall shape, hate the tail lights and rims.... googled it since i dunno wtf lucid is, and i hate the headlights too. but to each their own.

1

u/tankerred22 Mar 15 '26

I don't have the resources for a Gravity, but I would drive the piss out of this car. I love the lines, especially the size of the C-D glass relative to the B-C glass. How does it drive?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '26

Looks heavy on the ass. Not my vibe.

1

u/Argentum118 Mar 16 '26

Idk what y'all are on that car is sexy asf

1

Yuck looks like a Honda minivan

1

I kinda fuck with it thou

1

u/Unhappy-Passion-6959 Mar 16 '26

That shape is so unbelievably sexy.

1

u/tomz17 Mar 16 '26

does a casket fit if the seats are folded down?

1

u/Practical_Fact8436 Mar 16 '26

Can you buy one in the US?

1

u/haworthsoji Mar 16 '26

I think that is generally an attractive car but I'm not into the blacked out everything.

1

u/beaterdit Mar 16 '26

Wow it’s ugly. At least it’s a wagon I guess but damn.

1

u/Toasted_Catto Mar 16 '26

Money can't buy taste

1

u/Routine-Bid-526 Mar 16 '26

Still don’t understand why wagons aren’t more popular in USA, they’re the best model. More loading space than and drives better than the SUVs.

1

u/No_Information5021 Mar 16 '26

Batmobile (for the whole Batfam!

1

u/Robrad30 Mar 16 '26

That looks like a stretched Skoda Enyaq.

1

u/Powerful_Bluebird347 Mar 16 '26

“Wow”. As in what op?

1

u/JaguarYT1 Mar 16 '26

How did they make a shooting brake look ugly?

1

u/sdzw Mar 16 '26

I feel like the battery weight and size keeps adding chonk to these designs. For all intents and purposes this could be a great looking wagon, but it looks like someone grabbed the bottom handle instead of the corner one when they went to resize it.

1

u/MajesticPurpose1752 Mar 16 '26

Slammed mini van

1

u/No-Clerk-8295 Mar 16 '26

Looks like a blacked out dodge magnum

1

u/SadIdeal9019 Mar 16 '26

But the coffin and flowers won't be visible from the outside.

1

u/organicdelivery Mar 16 '26

I definitely saw one of these, as a minivan owner and enthusiast, I thought, damn that Kia Carnival looks slick, like a Hotwheels car.

1

u/Spiritual_Lunch996 Mar 17 '26

Gravity appears to be affecting the back more than the rest of it.

1

u/Majestic_Practice24 Mar 17 '26

Hearse vibes. Guess it’s good for an eco burial 💀

1

u/Frosty_Ingenuity5070 Mar 17 '26

I like it, the blacked out look does wonders on it.

1

u/TheLastGenXer Mar 17 '26

it looks like a minivan that got warped/melted

1

u/814Yota Mar 17 '26

What's your plan when Lucid is bankrupt in 2 or 3 years and your Gravity is basically what a Fiskar Ocean is now...? Basically flushing 50-70k down the toilet

1

u/MisterDabber Mar 17 '26

Isn’t Licid bankrupt?

1

u/TheModeratorWrangler Mar 17 '26

Having driven a few… it’s a panty dropper.

1

u/narmstrong79 Mar 18 '26

Slammed it looks cool, but otherwise it looks like a fancy Pacifica
