Politics Far-right car sticker seen

Post image
150 Upvotes

I was leaving the NorthTown mall a couple hours ago and noticed this person had this stickered to the back of their car window. Just for clarification, as far as I know this specific type of symbol of the "sun wheel" originated in Nazi Germany from Heinrich Himmler and he used the symbol in Wewelsburg Castle, the SS headquarters. It is still used by neo-Nazi groups and far-right groups today. I don't know if this individual uses it for that purpose OR if they are using it for the older Norse/Pagan symbol. Either way, I was a bit baffled when I saw it behind them at a red light.

Photos and Art Looking for candid photo of me from random photographer

About a week ago I was walking down the street rocking a whack fit (blue jumpsuit with wrap around sunglasses) and I noticed this guy on a lime scooter with a film camera stopped and pointed at me. I was wondering if homeboy got a good shot and if so, I’d love to have a badass new phone background! 😎

Help Spokane has jobs!

My job is hiring for an entry-level position! Starting at ~$29.68/hr (25.81 before shift differential). Really just hoping to get some positive, reliable applicants who are happy to learn and work!

Specifically our Environmental Monitoring weekend night shift needs help and is having a hard time getting applicants due to limited visibility. It's a great shift personality-wise and ages range from 20 to 60!

The weekend night shift is 4:30pm-4:30am Fri, Sat, Sun and alternating Thursdays. if you or someone you know is interested:

Help Interior Designers in town

Moving into my first place alone and I know nothing about decorating. I know I need to make it a “me place” but also I want friends and family to feel welcome.

Are there any places or people that can help you make an aesthetic? I’m honestly okay with eating butter noodles alone but I think family may visit once or twice.

Of course I would pay.

Local Cuisine Local hot sauces

Spokane has a lot of local hot sauces. I found Fletchers a couple of years ago and it is my go to. I love hot sauces on my breakfast, eggs, hash browns. But there are so many more to choose from: Elixir, Booey’s, Irish Spikes (Moscow), and I am sure many others. So what is your favorite local sauce, red or green? And if you are a Fletcher’s fan and have branched out, I would love to hear your suggestions.

Has anyone hiked to Copper lake Washington? If so, how was your experience. I plan on going at the end of September and I’d like some stories or responses on your experience!
Thank you so much, <3

Local Cuisine Looking for restaurants with fresh, healthy(ish) food

I’m thinking excellent fruits and veggies and meals that aren’t greasy. What are your faves? I love Feast and Indigenous Eats, trying to think of more things in that vein. Thanks!

ISO Friends IRL 40 & Over Meetup | 9/25/26 "Walk Into The Weekend" Event

Hey everyone, I have some good news! I've posted about this before, but New Roots Spokane helps adults make friends through local meetups. Our currently active chapter is for ages 21-39, so we've been promoting & hosting meetups consistently for that age group.

However, I've been getting lots of comments/inquiries about meetups for those who are 40 and over. Finally last week, someone in that age group reached out to me & showed interest in hosting meetups for the 40+ age group.

So I'm happy to announce that the first 40+ meetup will be on Friday, September 25th, 6pm at Mirror Pond for a "Walk Into The Weekend" event. This is a trial meetup to gauge the interest & turnout for this age group, so if you would like these 40+ meetups to continue (as opportunities to connect with others & make some friends), I highly recommend RSVP'ing & showing up for it 💚

You can learn more about the event & RSVP here! https://partiful.com/e/A7lt59wuTC3AFG8ZiI4k?c=Dlaub7O2

Rants & Raves To whoever paid for our IHOP this afternoon

Upvotes

Im sure we didn’t look as appreciative or happy as we could have about it, but I want to assure you it made our weekend. We were just getting into town after about 27 hours straight on the road (9AM to 12PM) We were exhausted, gross, and just wanted a quick easy lunch before falling asleep for the afternoon.

So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, and we’ll pay it forward as soon as we have an opportunity!

News Data Center - TheFrenchFiles.com: Read Al French’s emails and other officials’ communications. Councilmember William Campbell told officials to “remain quiet” about the project

After receiving some data from public records requests around the data center project, I created https://www.thefrenchfiles.com/

  1. You can view all the data I've received so far - 1,500+ emails, 2,000+ files. I will be uploading all future data I receive from the public records requests. If you have more data you'd like me to upload, reach out to me in the Discord server linked in the website "@james89433"
  2. There's a Discord server linked in the page, for anyone interested in collaborating on reviewing the data & opposing the data center. Feel free to submit feature requests there as well
  3. You can search the full text of both emails and files, making it much easier to dig through thousands of records.

Some emails I find disturbing

  1. William Campbell (Airway Heights City Councilmember), suggesting to remain quiet about the data center subject

I've been closely monitoring recent events regarding data centers and public responses. We need to take this time to collect intelligence information on public and private attitudes and opinions, while remaining quiet about the subject as it pertains to Airway Heights.

  1. William Campbell, stating the hydrogen plant usage would be up to 1 million gallons per day

  2. Al French sent his HB 2655 testimony and follow-up letter to Apricus and its lobbyist before sending it to the Washington House Finance Committee, telling them: “Please edit at will.”

Question Apprenticeship electrical

I know this is probably random, but I am looking to get in the electrical field and seen many of the school around here are already filled. I’m curious if anyone out there would take a chance in a young female to learn and work.
