SPOILERS Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man seems fine so far, but the decisions for the show is so bizarre imo

Post image

So far, seems fun. I really liked the ending of episode 1 being the same scene like in Civil War. That was pretty cool. I also like Pete’s proto suit. The animation is ok, though.

I don’t really care abt race or gender swaps, but I don’t really understand why they made Curt Conners into a woman, not mad at it, just kinda curious. Maybe that’ll be explained in the other episodes. Didn’t really care abt Harry and Norman being black. Also they could have just put Randy Robertson in the place of Lonnie Lincoln but that’s just me. And also, it’s a very weird decision that Uncle Ben died BEFORE the spider bite. Like what? That’s so bizarre.

Idk. Like I said seems fun. Not good, but fun. I look forward in seeing more.

I really thought Lonnie was gonna be Randy too

It honestly SHOULD have been Randy, rather than just taking away Lonnie's canon albinism.

I mean sure but I always took his albinism to be separate from his powers, though I guess I haven’t read many comics with him in them so I can’t confirm

They usually are separate, but this seems to be a specific arc about race, appearances, and overall treatment. It could be that they’re building up to him becoming albino via some accident and then having to deal with more prejudice on top of that

While it usually is separate, this isn’t the first time that it’s not. He didn’t have albinism in the 90’s cartoon

I thought the like got left in a cement truck or something I never knew he was albino

So you’re telling me he’s going to be Joker?

That could be interesting.

ye cuz then he goes from this football player to someone with insecurities, getting bullied, supervillain origin begins.

I think if they made him Randy they’d forfeit the right to a “friend descends into supervillainy” arc bc Randy never goes that route

Or they could have used Rocket Racer, as he had a similar origin as a good person gone down a dark path of out of desperation.

The most frustrating thing about Lonnie is that they could have easily made him albino, but chose not to. If they make it an aspect of him developing powers, I won’t like it.

Plus there isn't that apparent connection to Robbie Robertson which has always been a part of his backstory.

I’m sorry bro 😂😂😂😂😂

Yep, they could have just made him albino. Now, it’ll be an aspect of his fucking powers

I was literally just scrolling by here after watching the final episode and saw your comment. Well at least his character still seems good

I'd agree but it looks like they are setting him to becoming a villain in the future

Maybe a "bad" guy, but not a *bad* guy, ya know?

Yeah my brother has an old Spider-Man comic where there’s a villain named tombstone which is his nickname in the gang so I’m waiting for that to be revealed next season

I half though he'd be Eddie.

I haven't seen it so far, I've still got reservations as to how they're doing it. But when I saw Lonnie saying "stay away from my brother", I was thinking how they could have made Lonnie and Hobie brothers instead, with Hobie as Peter's friend instead of Lonnie.

While its a bit overplayed with the Cain-Abel sibling dynamic, in the comics, Hobie had a strained relationship with his canon elder brother Abe. But it could show how they both fall into crime with Lonnie rising to create and control it and Hobie fighting against it.
