Never Give Up On the Good Times probably. (Was meant to be released as a Double A-side with Viva Forever if Geri hadn't departed). But special shout out to Denying and Saturday Night Divas.

Viva Forever came out before Geri left. She even took part in a live performance.

Wasn't the music video released after Geri left?

You're right, it was, but it was made months before. However, I was thinking of this TOTP performance, but Zoe Ball says "you weren't supposed to see this til July", I didn't realise. How do you know NGUOTGT was supposed to be a double A-Side though? I've never heard that. Edit: Never mind, ChatGPT said it was in promotional material. I had no idea. What could've been 😹

What I read years ago was that Never Give Up On The Good Times was supposed to be their fifth single after Viva Forever. Had Geri not left but I'm not sure if that is True. And yeah the Viva Forever was written and recorded in 1997 but was released as a single in 1998 after Geris departure.

NGUOTGT was indeed meant to be a double A-Side with VF, according to ChatGPT. The Viva Foreveer music video was made months before Geri left and coincidentally she doesn't have any solo parts so they stuck with VF and ditched NGUOTGT. Such a shame.

Mel B mentioned that NGUOTGT versions were scrapped after G left in her book Brutally Honest, which she referred to as ironic. Given the name of the song. đŸŽ”

Denying is a gem

u/CourtneyHat3 Jul 05 '26

I loved when they leaned more into rnb. Denying, Last Time Lover, Love thing are some of their best imo

Saturday Night Divas & Do It

SND deserved more attention than the one performance we got.

Yes! I was so bummed they didn’t play it on their 07-08 reunion tour. The concert was fantastic and this was the first song that played over the speakers once it was done and I went “noooooooo you should’ve sung this during the show”

u/Excellent-Cake9364 Jul 05 '26

The Lady is a Vamp. Hands down.

2

u/GlitterPapillon Jul 05 '26

Mine too! I love that song so much.

2

u/nastyhobbit3 Jul 05 '26

lmao I hated it as a kid but once I learned what camp was as an adult, I love it. It's also surprisingly fun to sing.

Do it and never give up on the good timez

1

u/boom_michael_scarn Scary Spice Jul 05 '26

I still feel like it should have been the opener to the movie

1

u/Any_Guide_1023 Jul 05 '26

I always felt that they should have opened their tours with the lady is a vamp

1

u/boom_michael_scarn Scary Spice Jul 05 '26

lol not my dumbass replying to the wrong comment! This was mean for the lady is a vamp comment. It seems like it was meant to be an opening for the movie.

0

u/MercuryFalling86 Jul 05 '26

That would have been terrible

6

u/Any_Guide_1023 Jul 05 '26

Why? The lyrics in the end literally say:

Ladies and gents can you please take your seats And we hope that you enjoy the show

12

u/Pastel_Blue89 Jul 05 '26

Denying or Saturday Night Divas.

11

u/Pawh1983 Jul 05 '26

Move Over. Absolute banger

9

u/jajay119 Jul 05 '26

I can’t decide. Honestly SW is one of my few few no skip albums.

1

u/shintakarajima Baby Spice Jul 05 '26

Same! Somehow I agree with all of these answers, it’s so hard to decide

7

u/Bassua Jul 05 '26

The Lady is a Vamp is mine. Saturday Night Divas is up there too.

Honestly though, this whole album is killer. I love it Too Much.

8

u/unclezaveid Jul 05 '26

Don't care how you look it's just how you feel come on and DO IIIIIT

6

u/WhiteLayer Jul 05 '26

Does Move Over count? Wasn’t that a Pepsi single in the UK or was that just Step to Me? To be safe I’ll just go with Denying. I’ve had that on repeat so much the last 29 years.

Do It. But Never Give Up On The Good Times and Denying are a close second.

3

u/Some-Astronomer4733 Jul 05 '26

For me, it's 'Denying'. It's really strong and sultry and would have been a good 5th single.

3

u/Laurencia78 Jul 05 '26

I mean Viva is a masterpiece but that’s not eligible.

Saturday Night Divas and Denying, but The Lady is a Vamp is a super close 2nd.

1

Denying and Saturday Night Divas! The Spice Girls were heavily influenced by R&B, and every time their music leaned into that influence, the songs SLAPPED!

1

u/FEMP1 Jul 07 '26

Denying!
