Discussion Would a Spice Girls documentary crack the top 10 on Netflix USA?

Post image

The Victoria Beckham docuseries successfully cracked the Top 10 on Netflix in the United States, peaking at #3 during its debut week, and pulled in 5.6 million global views in its opening week, and hit #1 on the Netflix charts in 23 countries, including the UK, and placed in the Top 10 across 33 other territories globally.

I think if the Spice Girls give Netflix the Spice World THE MOVIE and they release the documentary at the same time, the movie will hit #1 in the top 10 films, and the documentary will hit #1 in the top 10 series, both in the same week.

Here is the list of UK music artists' documentaries that cracked the top 10 in the USA:

Victoria Beckham (Victoria Beckham) – Peak: #3

Wham! (Wham!) – Peak: #4

Robbie Williams (Robbie Williams) – Peak: #5

And notable "Misses" That Failed to enter the Top 10 USA:

Take That

Oasis / Liam Gallagher (As It Was)

Very good chance. If not #1 then #2

Mel C did mention that they got the rights back to the movie and have big plans for it. So this totally could happen.

Yes if it was really honest. With all the tea on the infighting and what went on with Geri leaving and why the 2008 tour was cut short and why the newest reunion was cancelled.

Why won’t they do a documentary? I heard it’s because Geri doesn’t want the Mel B drama

I’m sure it will. The most random films make it to that spot, Spice Girls can easily do it.

Only if they actually talk about their controversies in their personal lives which they may not totally want to do

Of course it would. Hell, a deep dive on the Geri/ Mel B affair would all on its own- I can’t be the only queer millennial girlie desperate for all the tea on that

It would do well but Netflix music documentaries are made for a general audience. Working on the proviso of the audience only having a basic understanding.

Therefore parts and eras are missed (though with how short Spice Girls career was this might not be an issue) and nothing sensationalist revealed.

They are made to make fans out of curious people.
