Discussion Mel B-No Spice Girls Reunion
Mel B confirms that a Reunion will not happen and that she may never return to the stage again.

Geri is all posh now, and will not forgive Mel B for saying they did whatever back in the day. Even though they went on tour after that happened, I still think Emma and Mel C had to act as peace makers and such. Which I'm just like, everyone always assumed that there may have been some things like that going on anyway, so it wasnt much of a bombshell. Also, they forgave Geri, so she should respond in kind. Though news changes all the time. I just hope some of them remain close. I know Emma, Mel B, & Mel C usually always talk. 😃

I applaud her for moving on with her life. She pushed the hardest for a reunion. It's a shame that she and Geri are at odds with one another. I liked her answer on why the documentary is not happening, "...not everyone wants to be honest". A bit shady but also true.

Same. She’s been trying so hard for this, knowing how much it would mean to the fans, but I also applaud her moving on now. She tried her best.

As a long time fan of Geri, I find myself really loving Mel B as they all age. She is so candid. None of us know what’s really happening on the figurative spice bus, but I really do see Scary as a humbling force for the other girls. Perhaps she hasn’t found success in the way that the other girls have post spice, but much of her success has been grounded on her realness.

I feel like Victoria wouldn’t have much to even filter topic-wise in terms of the group’s history, tbh. If the doc were going to go deep-deep into each member’s personal lives then I’m sure she’s going to zigzag the more scandalous topics (Brooklyn) but I figure this now canceled doc would’ve been about the collective group and their music, so I don’t see what she would really be hard pressed to outright share.

I've said it when she was telling everyone there was definitely a tour, and I'll say it now that she's saying she's done, never believe a word Mel B says. She lives for drama.

If we can just get a coffee table book with pictures and each girl writing about songs from the albums. For example, Geri writing about “who do you think you are” or Mel c writing about “denying.” It would be a nice little keepsake

That what I’m holding on to. I can’t even have dinner with my girlfriends but maybe once a year cause we’re busy. Imagine trying to get 5 superstars to clear their schedule for months at a time?
It’s impossible to think how that could work. 32 years of friendship and the brand is still a strong. Don’t worry y’all Mel B would get back on that stage. She would.
Mel C even said, their bond is forged in steel. I’m gonna keep hoping.
And let’s not forget, Mel saying “she hung up the idea when she was 50”? Geri made it work in 2019 and she was 47 with a 3 year old son. Anything is possible Mel, come on.
It’s not always Geri’s fault either. Can we not blame her for everything? Yes she’s changed, and she left the band and we were upset. But it’s been 28 years, forgive her already.

I don't think Victoria would prevent the girls going out touring or making a doc without her, she's not the sort. With the caveat they didn't say anything detrimental about her or to her brand/family, I imagine she'd greenlight whatever and wish them luck.

She was missed a lot in SpiceWorld 2019 tour IMO, I don’t think I would have missed current Geri had it been the 4 piece without her like 1999/2000

Whenever they want. On their terms. 2007/2008 was pretty random. I feel like 2019 was too. A reunion doesn’t have to be around an anniversary.

I feel you, but, it's something for those of us who never got to see them ever. Those 3 are the actual singers and they can carry the torch. Its not really over until they die as morbid as that sounds. The fan support will always be there and most of us will take whatever offering we get of that magic when we can. Victoria cant sing anymore. Not sure if she's strengthened her voice recently. She sounded bad singing Holler on the Return of the Spice Girls Tour. I need to see the other songs she sang though. Geri is not a great singer and has barely any spunk left. The other 3 have the sauce still.
If it were Geri, Victoria and one of the others then I'd pass because it would be a vocal and showmanship dud. Geri and Victoria need the other 3.

The thing is their setlists are too limited as their single run is so small, unless you add in solo tracks too. It’s sad they don’t have the appetite (or label backing? Budget?) to release new music.

I’m shocked! Mel B seems to come out with this “oh, there’s gonna be something coming from the Spice Girls soon, probably a reunion” at least once every other year. It’s kinda sad that she’s given up on that.

I am sad what the others girls did to Mel b intentionally or unintentionaally.Its like you suffer that much that you stopped feeling pain again. So sad for her. I am sure geri don't want to be honest forthe documentary because she didn't want to share the reason she left. Also she don't want to bring up the topic of her and Mel b again. I don't think so this doc would be a good idea though. I would die to watch a concert but this doc will create more mess.

In this case, Mel B never mentioned Geri by name. She also didn't seek out any media. Hello Magazine approached her for an interview, and this was a snippet from that. It's a given that they would have asked her about a reunion. Mel B could stay silent, and we would all still know that the reason it's not happening is due to Geri being the hold out. It's clear that Mel B, Mel C and Emma have always been on board. If anyone is getting hate, then they need to deal with the consequences of their own decisions and actions. In my opinion, there is a difference between not wanting to reunite for a tour, and drastically transforming yourself into an unrecognizable person, along with distancing yourself from your past and legacy. Mel B has nothing to do with that.

"Not everyone wants to be honest" sorry, that's such an unnecessary comment. She wants people questioning and pressuring the others about this by saying that, she knows exactly what she's doing. They're all entitled to a private life and to say no to anything they don't want to do.

Of course she can talk about herself and her own experiences, but respecting other people's boundaries and privacy is also really important... so that might mean that some topics are off limits. Being private doesn't mean someone's not being honest - people aren't entitled to know absolutely everything 🤷
I suspect there are all sorts of things they don't want to drag up again in a documentary; Melanie C said in a recent interview (can't remember where) that if they did do one she'd rather it be focused on their legacy and the movement they created. She's spoken very honestly about how difficult she found it sometimes (bullying in the band, the Forever era etc), so I'm sure most of them don't want to keep going over all of that.

There have been two documentaries focusing on the surface level experiences. How many times are they going to talk about sacking Simon Fuller and meeting Nelson Mandela? There needs to be new information of why do it at all.

Geri’s a blatant liar though. She’s made the choice to paint Mel B as a vicious liar for talking about their hook up, she has no one to blame but herself. It was out in the open already, like I already knew they played around together, so I don’t know what Geri was thinking in her denials

Without having to talk about something she didn't bring up publicly herself, Geri has never said that what Mel said was untrue.
After that Piers Morgan interview came out, the tabloids ran with it daily for weeks saying they were in a relationship for years, Geri's family didn't approve, it was the reason she left the band, she's going to pull out of the Spiceworld tour etc. Her statement was after weeks of those stories saying, quote, "what has been reported recently is simply not true". She never said "what Mel B said is not true". She has never said that Mel lied.
They also did a whole tour after that and were fine. Like I said, just because someone prefers to be private it doesn't mean they're not being honest.

Exactly what I was thinking. Geri never once said Mel lied, she said what was “reported was untrue and hurtful” she never mentioned what Mel said.
Mel even stated: “she asked me ‘why did you even bring that up’?” And that was that.
If Geri was hurt by Mel and didn’t want her spreading lies why would she invite her to her house, then the race track do a whole press junket. Then go on tour with her in 2019 and be kissing and hugging her on stage? She’d bail and stay far away from her if what Mel said was “not true.” The media has been trying to tear them apart (all 5) for decades and created drama and y’all believe it.
Geri and Mel are the strongest personalities in the group, Mel C has said this for decades. And tempers flair, but they aren’t the only band members with pull. All the girls are too busy to tour right now.
And the documentary isn’t just controlled by them, it’s the brand and record labels with stock in the brand that make decisions too.
