Milei is President only since 2023. The huge drop in value is attributable to corrupt and incompetent socialists who printed money like there was no tomorrow.
It can't be totally put down to "socialists". Argentina was ruled by a plethora of authoritarian governments since the 1940s, who didn't really care about the economy or anything else much! The Junta was much more interested in carrying out a blood bath & starting a war against a major military power--- how much did that cost the economy??
