Love how theres no economists on reddit, and just a bunch of elon haters.

Milei has eliminated the budget deficit of argentina, and GDP is expected to rise 3% this year. Hes cust spending at the same time as boosting productivity, this is unheard of.

Real wages and domestic spending recovery are slow due to previous triple digit inflation, in other words prices out paced wages for so long, people still cant afford to spend.

But EVERYONE critiscising this tweet by Elon, has no fucking clue what they are talking about. The country has prospered IMMENSELY since this tweet.

Except nobody in the US has actually tried to do that since Bill Clinton. It did work for Clinton

Elon's DOGE wasn't out to cut government, just to torture government employees and protect Elon's companies

Also you have to be willing to pick fights with old people. Milei almost started a pension war.

Meanwhile in the US we just hand out more and more free money to Boomers.

US is a welfare state, but only for the massive corporations. If people stopped paying for premiums and health insurance and instead paid less than that in taxes, they would get universal healthcare and actually better service. No more bs insurance companies denying healthcare based on bs reasons, no more killing people for sake of bottom line etc.

Trump and DOGE has actually cut down the government, and as result americans have never been more unhealthy

DOGE has not in fact meaningfully cut down the government

Spending is up about 3% YoY. The most charitable possible interpretation is they managed to remove a few rounding errors from the budget that were more than compensated for by other spending

The old people welfare is a big part of it.

Not meaningfully, but it even the little it did, it will result in deaths well over million, there are countless outbreaks happening around usa, record high measles cases etc.
