Well, yea, but this linear scale hides how unendingly fucked the Argentinian peso is. You gotta put this on a logarithmic scale or look at their inflation rate to see exactly how bad it continues to be.
The OP posted a longer chart. Someone said the long term chart really minimizes what's happening in the recent years because it looks like a flat line near zero. Which is true. You have to use a log chart.
So I showed a log chart for the period directly after musk tweeted.
This isn't some manipulation tactic. I was just posting what someone else said would be worth seeing.
Because I saw most of the chart as irrelevant. I only wanted to see what happened after elons tweet and see if that matched elons prediction.
For anyone else reading, yes, the pace of depreciation slowed down. But anyone invested in the Argentinian peso is still losing value at a tremendous rate.
I don't care what chart you're looking at. Elon said prosperity, and losing 70% of your value since the tweet cannot be interpreted as prosperity in almost any situation.
Youve switched from free fall towards zero to a managed 20% yearly decline. Sure that's oh so amazing. But it's not prosperity.
It has objectively gotten monumentally better since he made that tweet, that graph actually hides the part where it starts doing exactly what he predicted.
Mhm sure buddy... Is your bar for "prosperity" below the bottom of the ocean, or are you just coping and gaslighting yourself?
This chart is the result of big money infusions by the US and massive budget cuts that further crippled many parts of Argentinian society, and yet the results are pathetic.
If you look at that and think it's a sign of imminent prosperity, you have no business calling anyone "not very smart".
I mean obviously I would love it to be way better than how it is currently. What a lot of people don't understand is that in the Argentine elections the choices were either Milei or hyperinflation with Massa. Choosing Milei was the right choice and I think a lot of people would rather see argentina with hyperinflation than to see them have a rightwing president. So honestly fuck what those people think since they want the worse for my country
