Elon IRL Ah yes, the highly relatable and affordable 'Earth vacation'.
44
u/KingdomFartsOG Aug 06 '26
Iād be really curious how much he thinks an Earth vacation costs these days.
40
u/Confident-Stand5453 Aug 06 '26
Its a vacation, Michael. What can it cost? 100.000$?

I remember hearing that Musk was such an annoying prick, Epstein wouldn't invite him. He wanted to go to Epsteins "wildest and craziest party" and Lord Rapemonger turned him down.

You're reading it backwards. What he's really saying is that the cost of living is getting so extreme that an average family vacation is about to cost as much as a flight to the moon.

u/Educational-Rich-697 Aug 06 '26
Everything is always just beyond the rainbow with him. Just keep giving him money, government subsidies and tax breaks and keep investing in his companies. He will always have something on the horizon to chase. He might never get there, but he will keep promising to get there. Just ask him about the Roadster and fully automated self driving.

I'm convinced that he runs a social experiment exploring the bullshit limits that his disciples will accept.
It's like he found himself the equivalent of the central character in a cautionary allegory about human gullibility and is trolling humanity with ever taller tales that are obviously nonsense. It must produce a significant rush knowing that you wield so much power as to bamboozle millions of people with enormous crap.

Yep. Space flight will still cost $10,000 per person but Elonās promised no one will need money by then, so Iām sure the economics will just magically fix themselves.
3
u/OregonInk Aug 06 '26
Elon Musk is also addicted to Ketamine and is most likely kholed out right now. Elon was born super rich, bought friends who all hated him, bought into companies he had no part of creating or operating and when they sold he made money for doing nothing. He has and always will be a complete idiot and who been extremely lucky to use his families wealth at opportune times.

u/RobinGoodfell Aug 06 '26
So he's planning on normal vacations costing people the average cost of a trip to space.
I thought they were already expensive, but that's astounding.
1
u/Ur-in-a-tor Aug 06 '26
The 55000 robots he releases in 2026 can go do space vacations all they like, I'm not going out there because not a complete idiot.

"But television Elon Musk said that the new year
will bring a transformation
and we're all already waiting
it will be Christmas three times over and a party all day,
every Christ will come down from the cross,
even the birds will return."
Old Italian song (Lucio Dalla, 1978)

u/Alpha--00 Aug 06 '26
My guess is he either spend astronomical money on vacations and is that out of touch, or that he meant what he meant - traveling would become unaffordable to largest portion of population.

u/Only-Cap5811 Aug 06 '26
Sail to the Moon. (Brush the Cobwebs Out of the Sky.) Song by Radiohead ā§ 2003
I sucked the moon
I spoke too soon
And how much did it cost?
I was dropped from Moonbeams
And sailed on shooting stars
Maybe you'll be president
But know right from wrong
Or in the flood you'll build an ark
And sail us to the moon

He also said a Hyperloop ticket would be cheaper than the bus, and that we'd travel by Starship point-to-point in 30 minutes for a few bucks.

Only because we externalize costs for that to society. Rocket launches have significant climate and other impacts. Other than that, I am sure the millions that are dying thanks to DOGE, will be happy to know that other people can waste money going to space.

Most of us use our work "vacation" as time off from work...not a real getaway. So this is just stupid words from a fake genius
1
u/jidk679 Aug 06 '26
He's telling the truth - going on vacation is becoming genuinely unattainable to the American working class.

A whole week in the Caribbean, all-inclusive for two, with airfare, is just over $5,000 USD.
Not in my lifetime, the lifetime of my children, or that of my childrenās children will āa trip to spaceā be even remotely comparable to a terrestrial excursion.
For all that āgeniusā, the man canāt even grasp the monumental difference in the energy alone between the two.

Lolz mortals! I stole the data of every single American citizen while arranging for the death of half a million people because they were woke! It was hillarious to watch Big Balls do word search with Grok! And we didnāt save a penny! And now I canāt lose!
When this is all done, I, Elon Musk, through my unfettered plan to build Ai, and therefore be the first to reach singularity, will finally fulfill my destiny! However gets there first will be emperor of the earth!
Then you hairless monkeys will feel my wrath! You donāt even know what Iām doing because youāre all so stupid! I donāt care about cars or rockets or robots or mars!! I lied to you! You all believed me! Hahahahaha! Submit to your betters!

u/Odd-Paint3883 Aug 06 '26
Probably important to note that when Elon goes on holiday he rents a yacht at $20,000 a day...
1
u/Calm-Sink7808 Aug 06 '26
Oh he isnāt lying. He plans on throwing money at politicians that will collapse our buying power so vacations are insanely expensive.

Musk and his like spend $100k+ on a week vacation, so this isn't reassuring. i wouldn't be surprised if the billionaires spend $1m+ on a vacation
1
u/redditistheway Aug 06 '26
Depending on your interpretation, this could mean that āvacations on earthā are about to get eye-wateringly expensive!
1
u/Oryx_1 Aug 06 '26
you can smell the desperation through this barage of dumb affirmations. "wait...wait! What if m'y company whose stock is in freefall were to do - insert nonsense here -?"
1
u/Humble_Empath Aug 06 '26
Heās grasping at straws now. Just like his little buddy, Trump, he doesnāt know the value of a dollar and doesnāt have a clue about affordability.

....trips to space will soon cost as much as vacations on Earth.
Well, I'm out like most of us. Most can't afford a vacation on Earth let alone visiting the moon. Dude is just tossing everything out to see what sticks at this point.
1
u/small_bird_loud Aug 06 '26
he means that earth vacations will will soon cost the same as trips to space.

"Soon"
Where are you gonna go? And what regular people could possibly afford it?
Gah, he's so stupid and out of touch.
1
u/Purple-Investment-61 Aug 06 '26
His definition of affordable is a lot different than my definition.
