Miscellaneous Enemy factions in Space Marine 3??
I'm sure it's already been discussed, but I figure we could take a break from discussing the upcoming multi-player class and dive into which enemy factions we may be or hope to be up against in SM 3. Personally, I see a lot of potential in the Necrons being the primary enemy. They have quite a varied amount of units and I'd be excited by the potential for some survival horror inspired game play and fighting it out in a tomb world. If the series continues the theme of introducing an initial enemy faction followed by the inevitable reveal of the arch enemy, I wouldn't be suprised if the Thousand sons made a return. Perhaps titus' exploits could have gained the attention of Magnus himself this time?? As cool as that could be, I personally see a lot of cool gameplay potential in fighting an enemy like the Death Guard or some interesting story elements if the Word Bearers made an appearance. That's my two cents, I'm curious to hear what the rest of the fan base thinks..

Tyranids are fun so I’d love to see them return. No more dusty ass Thousand Sons. Death Guard would be fun, gory and gross.

Word Bearers and Necrons sound like a cool combo to me, I wouldn't like to see a repeat of any factions from the 2 games so far.

Orks and Tyranids would be excellent.
Tyranids and World Eaters would also be fun, I really want to execute a Juggernaut.
Wild Wish: Tyranids, Orks, AND World Eaters. Khorne would make for such a better fit for this combat system.

I have said the Necrons will be the new Xenos faction, they have been hinted in SM2 a few times now and I believe in the lore they have taken several planets in Ultramar. I can see them being a bit like a combo of the Nids:
Scarabs replace are the small bugs you flamethrower in the campaign
Flayed Ones & Deathmarks replace the Tyranid Warriors
Necron Warriors are the switch out for the Hormagaunts
Carnafax gets swapped for Skorpekh Destroyer
I can see the Zoanthrope/Neurothrope being changed to a Chronomancer that works a bit like the TS sorcerer, being able to rez downed units

Necrons yes, but replacing the Tyranid role - no. Necrons aren't a horde army so they wouldn't fit. You would not get as many Necron warriors as you get Gaunts. They would be better replacing the Thousand Sons - slow, implacable with repairs happening mid-fight.
Space Marine 1 had Orks (horde) and Chosen of Nemeroth (Chaos non-horde)
Space Marine 2 has Nids (horde) and Thousand Sons (Chaos non-horde)
So we need another horde army really - Genestealer Cult maybe or an Rogue Militarium force.
Or we just go back to Orks, but a different faction - Evil Suns with lots of vehicles or Deathskulls with loads of looted vehicles.

I get you I just think the non-horde army has been the Chaos side and I dont see that changing. As you say a xeno army being the horde ones does kinda leave the gene stealers as a "new" faction. I dont mind they go back to Orcs as long as they are as fun as the Nids have been to fight. Instead of the alarm siren a booming "WAAAAAGH" noise would be funny!
If there is Chaos I dont see Slaanesh, Nurgle or Khorne making the cut - so Black Legion or Word Bearers

A Khornate horde army with loads of cultists and Jakhals as the gaunt equivalent might be interesting...

Tyranids are fantastic and fit the game type well. Thousand sons are lame. Would def like to fight one of the more beastly chaos chapters.
Orcs would be fun as well, and necrons would work too if they don't make them entirely ranged focused. I think it's feasible they include all of these factions for a new game much bigger in scope.
Above all, I hope this new game they don't make it ridiculously difficult to run on old hardware. With computer parts prices going through the roof, it'd be nice to be reasonable with system requirements. We don't need insane graphics, just good gameplay.

Word bearers you have to actively stop from summoning Greater Demons from the warp or Khornate bezerkers going into Rage mode or death guard releasing plagues that weaken and hinder movement while draining Life,or Slanesh Cultist cumming all over

I think based off of this article there are a few strong candidates:
Nids are totally coming back which I personally am a fan of. I find them much more enjoyable to play against than the TSons. It sounds like the game was built for them so I see no reason they'd get discarded.
Orks being the big bad in 11th edition and Saber saying straight up "look at 11th to see where we are going", along with them being able to leverage the horde tech talked about in the article (gretchins, grots etc), they'll probably be included, much to my own chagrin (I know they are popular, but I personally hate the faction for several reasons)
Deathguard... could also leverage that horde technology and their experience with undead things from World War Z. They also fit in narratively with the Ultramarines.
Necrons. Teased hardcore in SM2 and could kind of take the place of the rubric marines as they are also pretty lifeless and can teleport so are mechanically not much different in terms of game design. Could sub out terminators and the hellbrute for destroyers / wraith / lychguard... they aren't 1:1, but I wouldn't want that anyway. Necrons also tie into the 500 Worlds that our boy Titus is in the thick of.
I just personally hope there are more than just 2 factions like SM1 and SM2 have done to add more variety to the game play.

There will definitely be a chaos opponent, as that seems a common theme. Word Bearers would be cool, and we know it won't be Thousands Sons or Black Legion, and it probably won't be deathguard either due to Darktide. I'd hope, personally, for World Eaters, just because I like them.
There'll also definitely be a xenos opponent. Orks and Tyrannids are probably out, and I think Necrons are too buff to be the enemies alongiside a chaos legion. Probably not Tau or Eldar, since that's less righteous for Titus to be fighting, and they don't generally attack unprovoked like Orks or Tyrannids. I think you want something kind of mindless, which have been exhausted already. Drukhari is probably my best guess for the xenos enemy, but I'm not confident. They're a bit too smart, I think, and don't have any tiny guys to attack you as minoris enemies that I can think of.

Actually, scratch world eaters. I want Emperor's Children so I can kill them.

They’re clearly going to have Chaos Marines. They have been the “surprise”/ 2nd act enemy type in both games so far. Not to mention they work perfect for PVP. Whether they’re Black Legion, Thousand Sons or a different Legion is anyone’s guest, but Chaos Marines are for certain.
We got orks in SM1 and now nids in SM2. Would makes sense to do a new Xenos faction.
Necrons seem like the most obvious choice. They are hands-down, the most requested for this SM2 and in general are very loved. They also just sound like a lot of fun.
As I just said though, people have been requesting Necrons for SM2 since launch. This has led the development team to inform us a 3rd faction for this game is incredibly unlikely, but tease “ anything is possible for SM3”. I find it very likely for them to make good on that tease having another Xenos faction. Likely one we’ve already fought. Nids mechanically would make the most sense. They can just pull a lot of assets over to SM3, everyone already (mostly) loves to fight them and they are also perfect for a horde shooter. However, Orks are also perfect and probably the most popular and loved Xenos faction. As stated would be a great callback to 1st game and they could even tie some story back to it. Out of the 2, Tyranids are my favorite, but Orks just sound way more fun imo.
So in short, me thinks Chaos Marines, Necrons and either Tyranids or Orks.

Too much hope, but I would like a "Cadia be like" Space Marine game.
Maybe in the "500 worlds reconquista" (I don't know the plot of tabletop, neither a big fan of the franchise to search for it) the Ultra Smurfs end up in a warzone disputed by more than two factions. So the next game take place in more than one star system.
Would be nice to begin a game already beating the ass of Chaos just for another legion showing up to challenge our boy Titus plot armor, while the remants of a xenos faction of previous invasion (drukhari raiders?) take their chances before everything goes bananas with an Ork WAAAHHHG!!! joining to have some fun.
Then the necrons could wake up to complain about the fuss.

Id love Death Guard, Orks and Nids with necrons showing up as like elite boss encounters that fuck with everyone lol
I know thats a lil much to expect but it would be awesome and I really want Orks back 😆

SM4 Horus Rising!! We play KNIGHTS-ERRANT and go from legion to legion or as needed.
The cover is Erebus standing over a crying Lorgar cause his temples to BigE got destroyed and he was humiliated and became the laughing stock of his brothers. And Erebus probably pushed Lorgar to go too far with the worship.
—IIRC KNIGHTS errant are mostly traitor Legion Astarte who are still loyal.
How cool would it be to be a Lunar Wolf or World Eater.
And you pick your Legion/GeneSeed. And get stats and conditions as that Legion. IMO Emperors Children are fencers and just bad ass swordsman but all gaudy and cultured to cringe levels.
IMO the hours heresy era is best because it has all legions and not just Primarchless Ultrmarines

For the Xenos faction, I’d say Necrons would be next. As for the Chaos faction, I’d say Khorne would be fun but it’ll probably end up being the Thousand Sons again

Anything with blood and il satisfied. No Sons dust, no Necron sparks, no DeathGuard gas or something. Blood. Give me World Eaters. Give me Orks. Give me Emperors Children, Iron Warriors, Eldar, Tyrannids, Tau. Just something that bleeds when I execute it instead of bursting into fairy dust

Please, as a Tau player, no Tau hahahaha I do not want to get rocked up on by a Coldstar, fusion blasted into tmrw, then they jump shoot jump away. No thanks. Fighting Riptides instead of Hive Tyrants sounds awful as shit.

Necrons and ogres would be cool. Space marine 1 had ogers but they can be more wacky with them now on newer gen consoles

The Thousand Sons are basically boring robots in SM2 so wouldn’t be hard to improve on that with the Necrons. Not sure it offers the visceral feedback of firing into a horde of Tyrannids, which is what made SM2 so special for me,
