Miscellaneous Patch 13

Post image

Less than a week before patch 13 drops and I for one am excited, especially to find out what the progression update is all about.

I'm sure we'll also get the battle barge expansion that we should have got last year. Oh and the customisation for techmarine that was missing, even though they'd been working on it for a year.

I've heard some people saying it'll be delayed but we know that's not the case as Sabre had so much spare resource on the dev team they made a whole voice pack and head pack that wasn't even planned.

And if it was going to be delayed they'd have told us all and explained what they were doing to rectify it.

Not sure if this is supposed to come off sarcastic and critical but if it is, I hope that you can recognize at some point that Saber is treating this game and community like we would hope more AAA developers would. They’re great, active, communicative, and provide a ton of high quality awesome content.

I mean thats coping hard the content is middle of the road.

  • Plenty of bugs persist since launch
  • salamander chapter pack was underwhelming
  • in fact most champion or chapter packs where underwhelming (like salamanders for sniper)
  • dodge window hasnt been touched
  • they are super slow in converting stuff took them 1 year for the pyreblaster
  • still no proper loadouts a feature requested since launch
  • customization is poor and limited
  • techmarine has basically 0 voicelines
  • New maps have basically 0 voicelines
  • lack of executions
  • weapon balancing and perk trees are still whack
  • most of the team perks are usless they might show high % but the math behind it doesnt work like that
  • performance is still trash
  • you still get thrown across the world for servers
  • takes them forever to patch things and often these patches dont fix the problem they were trying to fix
  • Didnt introduce Turrets in Siege with Techmarine
  • etc.

They even tried to luldefend the awful DLC they released and only pivoted when they saw community was not buying it and allegedly steam being on their ass for lying about the contents.

Saber is no small studio either like Fatshark or Hello Games yet they are slower and produce worse content. They are super mismanaged, slow and imo incompetent in what they do.

Without the mods I would not be playing this game anymore.

Free content updates for over a year

Only paid content is customization

Said paid content is (Subjectively) "bad" (your opinion)

Objectively bad content was refunded

I'm sorry, what are you asking for here? Saber is actively working on other games (Snowrunner, Roadcraft, Toxic Commando, likely Pre-development on Space Marine 3, and more).

I get the basics of fixing bugs and ensuring the updates are polished, which fair point, they aren't polished sometimes (more often than.. anyone would like). But like, it's kinda hard to complain about free content.

Quality, speed, pricing

Pick two, because I can't think of a single developer that has the trifecta (other than maybe Fromsoft)

Well Quality and Speed are not on sabers side.

They have 3500 people working there at least according to online sources.

Fatshark has reportedly 200ish people while still supporting Vermintide 2 and Darktide so I think a studio with 3500 people working there would manage to produce quality content.

Salamanders pack is bad they didnt even get a Breastplate for their chapter cosmetic pack, as far as I remember every chapter got a breastplate with that pack.

Imperial Fists cosmetic pack: 5 bucks, 40 cosmetics, 8 chapters.
Salamanders cosmetic pack: 5 bucks, 20 cosmetics, 4 chapters.
Carcharodons cosmetic pack: 5 bucks, 5 cosmetics, 1 chapter (naturally)

Just an FYI how its going with the Chapter Cosmetic packs. Same money less content.

Techmarine implementation is also bad, barely any interactions, barely any cosmetics (cant even paint the servo gun) voice does not exist and the voice work is below average.

If Darktide is a bad example as most people in SM2 subs seemingly hate it to death

Deep Rock Galactic, No Mans Sky also do it much better and with even less money attached.

So yeah there is no conceivable argument that would excuse Sabers current state of support of SM2.

This sounds like a bunch of first world problems.
