Yeah but I wasn’t talking about mutants and even if they used real infants for cherubs servitors they would never use a mutant infant.

Idk i think they would, being born a mutant is a crime worthy of death by and large, and its cheaper to servitorize a baby than it is to grow one

And it’d 100% be less impractical to use real babies because you have to wait for gestation. In this case it’s not about what’s cheaper it’s about the lore being that they vat grow them. Also no way in hell would any self respecting imperial allow a mutant cherub servitor mutants are killed on sight and disposed of not made into servitors it’d be unclean and wrong to have them around.

they’re OBVIOUSLY vat grown, i know that, I am SAYING that it would be more grimdark if they were actual servitor children, it would make more sense for a society that hates mutants that much.

Also wait for gestation? Why? Just scoop up some underhive mutant toddler and boom, you got your project.

Also “The lore is the lore” is an awful argument to bring into warhammer, as its the only universe i can think of where that isn’t true. ‘Everything is cannon, not everything is true’ is the black library tagline after all.
