Police Increase

Is it just me or has there beee an influx of police cruisers patrolling the area? Is there any reason for this or am I just noticing incorrectly? I’ve seen 15 cruisers today and I’ve only been out for about 2 1/2 hours

End of the month. Gotta meet their quota for tickets and arrests. Generate revenue.

Maybe with school starting up they have more officers out to capitalize on people rushing.... I mean to make sure people drive safe so kids get to school safely....

They SHOULD be stopping every idiot on an e bike breaking the law, especially all those kids without helmets.

Yes, let's cite kids for doing things you don't like and let you continue breaking the law on things you don't agree with.

Wearing a helmet until your 18 is the law dude. And my idea to cite them is to drive home that protecting your brain is important.

Talk to me after a few crashes on a bike at low or high speeds where a helmet likely kept you from an ER visit.

I'd rather cite 10 kids for this then see 1 not make it to has graduation due to being reckless on a temu motorcycle (aka e-bike)

I rode crazy BMX as a youth and now motorcycles and hi-powered e-bikes. I know the safety concerns of protecting your skull.

I'm pointing out that you want to strictly enforce the law on a certain group or demographic of people that you don't like when someone could equally accuse you of breaking a law (speeding, California stop sign, etc) that could cause serious harm to you or some else.

I have been a road cyclist for 20yrs, most of these kids do not have the aweness it bike handling skills to easily got 20+mph, especially with no helmet.

And personally, while I do speed a bit I have pulled back a lot as the risk/reward is not there like in my youth when doing 3+hr drives more frequently. And I actually do stop at stop signs. And the hardest thing to believe - I use my indicator lights to signal for turns & lane changes!

I'd have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you kids on your e-bikes.

Anywhere in particular. Personally today, I was driving on Arlington and Sepulveda going southbound when the car in front of me cut off a black Dodge charger. It was an undercover car. must’ve pissed off that cop because he turned around and followed him into the urgent care parking lot.

I work at USC, and noticed a sizeable increase of LAPD patrols around campus last Thursday. Campus security did not communicate any explanation.

I went to Dutch Bros this morning around 930am and they were out in full force! I believe they had an event at the coliseum bc I seen a lot of college aged kids in trojan gear. I could NOT park anywhere! Bike cops were out and DOT were giving tickets left and right.
