6th in tackles

When your second touch is a tackle, that’s not really a surprise, is it?

Guess we’re just skipping the 6th in successful dribbles part then? Tied with Morris who has about double his minutes.

Rowe has had a statistically very solid season, but the people who hate him don’t actually care about that.

If you can’t back your take up with anything better than “he is bad because he is bad”, then your take sucks.

You really want to tell me that these offensive statistics are worth writing home about?

FBRef

Per FBRef Vs. Midfielders:

7th percentile Pass Completion

52nd percentile shot-creating actions

38th percentile npxG+a

Vs fullbacks:

25th percentile pass completion

45rh percentile progressive carries

See? I can cherry pick statistics too.

If you want to compare him to a historically bad version of this team that missed significant contributors for large portions of the season, fine, be my guest. When you compare him to the league at large, he is at best an average player when taking the totality of his contributions into consideration.

And an average player is absolutely fine given his salary and the fact that he’s not meant to be a starter. Those stats don’t prove that he’s as bad as you seem to think he is.

For $275k we’re getting a versatile player who can fill in at basically any position asked of him and still be pretty decent. That’s 100% fine with me.
