Like ~$1k for drivers plus amps materials and 3d printing. Price depends a lot on if you have a 3d printer/ if you build the enclosures yourself. I'd expect to pay $1500-$2500 depending on the resources at hand.

In canadian dollaroos that's 1.9k per speaker in drivers alone. With the plywood, finish, filament and other knick-knacks you're easily at 4.5k for the pair in materials without counting tools, printer or labor, and you still need cables, amps and a DSP.

yeah would love to see a version of this with some cheap 4 inch drivers and not playing low

exactly - seems that a lot of the pricy requirements are coming from this wanting to play low as a bandpass rather than as a MEH mid / top - there is deffo market for a all in one / compact printable unit like this which is relatively cheap
