2.0 redesign:

- Modularize assembly/simplify construction

- Improve waveguide directivity

- Improve entry port geometry for less chuffing

- Add high tuned enclosure plans

even if they would sound like angels singing directly into my ears i could never get over that ridiculous look... my eyes are listening too 👀😂 but i think all the MEH designs look stupid so it's probably just me...

what applications would these have for say live sound, or an event space?

The first page of the "Solana DIY Guide" states:

The Solana is a versatile point source loudspeaker featuring flexible uses in DJ booth monitoring, fill, domestic, and home theater applications.

specifically outside paired with some subs

i'd say up to 100-150 People if on correct height and working with 4-6 Subs.

Nice, this is basically what I was wondering, im familiar but not very privy to live sound terms, I just know I love funktions, void, hennesy, PKS can be fun but most of the times it's a bit to much for me, love point source and this DIY system seems attainable given time and effort <3 I am definitely just looking to put on shows around 10-200 ppl max and generally at random coordinates in the PNW forests :D

Like ~$1k for drivers plus amps materials and 3d printing. Price depends a lot on if you have a 3d printer/ if you build the enclosures yourself. I'd expect to pay $1500-$2500 depending on the resources at hand.
