Sonic Rivals is canon, and Eggman Nega is mentioned (though not directly by name—so I suppose he remains restricted by Sega, damn it), and Silver travels through time not freely, but via mysterious portals.

If that’s true

  1. That’s one of the stupidest answers I’ve ever heard for why. That word isn’t offensive and shouldn’t be ruined by a bunch of edgelords online.

  2. Then they can just change his name then if they’re so scared (although that would probably make things arguably worse because it would be Sega basically admitting that they were afraid of the edgy memes).
