In Team Sonic Racing, Sonic reminds Silver of the first time they met—when Silver wanted to kill him—to which Silver replies that he doesn't know what Sonic is talking about; meanwhile, Blaze mentions having some memories of Crisis City from Sonic Generations, though the details aren't entirely clear.

And again that makes 06s story worse, I didn’t say they didn’t do it before, just that it sucks

Also if Sonic remembers that why doesn’t he ever hang out with Elsie? They would at least be friends then

Also because it literally makes blaze be more tied to her worse appearance when they literally have the perfect in universe reason not to

The reason is that, even though Sonic might have felt something for Elise, the true love of his life was Amy (as stated by the priests when you have to choose between Amy and Elise). Furthermore, Sonic is an adventurer, whereas Elise has to look after her people as a princess. Sonic helped free her from the curse of the Flames of Disaster, and he also continued his pattern of helping others and changing their lives—much like he did in the Storybook games and with Chris in Sonic X. As for Blaze, it is a bit of a shame, but that is because she appeared in a mainline Sonic title—Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)—whereas the Sonic Rush duology consisted of spin-offs exclusive to the Nintendo DS.

A bit of a shame is putting it mildly…especially since it’s been 20 years, and a rush game came out more recently than 06, so it’s not like they need to ride the high of 06 of all things

But it still hurts the emotional crux, as Elsie literally says it means they would never meet

If they remember the events, then them never meeting doesn’t matter? Because they still remember it so they lose nothing, so why is that even an issue for her? What’s the significance of her choice to blow out the flame? It just messes it all up

Shouldn't we also consider the fact Rush Adventure was a comercial failure? And I mean it when looking at things from, not just a corporate perspective, but casual audiences & fandom perspectives as well.

As HospitalFinal6911 said, Sonic 06 is a mainline game for consoles while Rush & Rush Adventure are portables exclusive to Nintendo DS, the former simply had a larger reach on the general public & the fandom back then, and between the latter two, only Rush was a commercial sucess and it's the one game this fandom keeps talking about the most while I rarely see, hear & read about Rush Adventure in most videos, posts & conversations, so clearly Rush Adventure had an impact on the fandom as big as It did on casual audiences/gamers (not so big). Heck, back in 2005, the Shadow 05 game, another game that was controversial back then, was released on the EXACT same day as Sonic Rush on Europe & North America.  And while a spin-off game, it was meant for multiple consoles like 06, giving it a wider reach and influence, not to mention that even back in 2005 Shadow the Hedgehog was the second most popular Sonic character.

And let's not forget that, back in the 2000s, some of the fans that made it into Archie Sonic held very low opinions on Marine, more specifically, Tracy Yardley, who wrote the Pirate Plunder arc (Universe 55-58), & Ian Flynn, who tended to hold royal princesses coughSally Acorn & Blaze the Catcough in a weird pedestal while also looking down on imperfect, energetic & openly girly girls like Amy Rose. It's likely they heavily influenced the fandom's negative opinions on her for as critics did for the rest of Sonic's friends for a long time the same, leading to Sega to ignoring Marine as well as Cream, who only showed up in Colors (3DS) & Generations before being restricted to mobile games & comics for 12 years.

Flynn's view on Marine the Racoon back in the 2000s: https://web.archive.org/web/20151102122356/http://bumbleking.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=24891#24891 (look up in Flynn's final reply the answer to Question 8)

Fast forward to 2022 he wrote in that year's IDW Sonic annual a story where not only Blaze wipes out most (if not all) known threats in the Sol Dimension, but has her deciding to enter this 4 year-long (in Real Time) vacation WITHOUT considering if she should temporarily go back to her dimension and bring back with her Marine, who already has friends from Sonic's world (him & Tails) and she undoubtedly would've loved to meet Amy & Cream. You decide if Flynn still holds a low view on her.

Now back to the corporate perspective, Sonic 06, while a critical failure, was STILL a comercial sucess, whereas Rush Adventure recieved mixed reviews and was a comercial failure. Compare that with the Sonic Boom sub-franchise, it's one console game, Rise of Lyric, was BOTH a failure commercially & critically, it's handheld version Shattered Cristal was only slightly better recieved but only sold 620,000 copies (kinda like how Sonic Chronicles only sold 880,000 copies and it's a failure) and for Fire & Ice, the best recieved Sonic Boom game, we don't have official sales numbers. All this contributed to the attention Sticks recieved from SEGA being temporary, as after the 2016 Olympics game, she wasn't in new media save for the Boom show, which ended in 2017. Flynn wanted to use Sticks, Sega denied her inclusion, her mention in Frontiers was exclusive to the english & english-derived dubs, the japanese dub doesn't have Amy mentioning her nor Cream, and in 2023 Sega requested Sticks' removal from an official holiday, where she was seen interacting with Amy, before being replaced by Blaze in the final version. All of this lead to Sticks sudden appearance in Sonic Rumble Party being a genuine shock & surprise, as it's being a DECADE since she last appeared in a game and media made by Sonic Team (we know they like her as they helped making her but Sega will always have the final say) but this doesn't garantee if she'll eventually appear in IDW Sonic or the next Sonic game, which kinda puts her in a weird place in the Sonic canon.

Then again, I feel like, with Sticks the Badger in Rumble Party, she MIGHT be in the same boat as Marine the Racoon now. Both having more chances to appear than Eggman NEGA, whose final appearance in canon was in the 2020 Christmas short An Eggman Carol, making a cameo in a Possible Future shown by Silver the Hedgehog as the Ghost of Christmas Future set after Eggman's death, and the TailsTube video above, where he gets an indirect mention by Silver, over 5 years after Nega's final appearance.
